Is there any clarity on what is going to happen to Wagner? Is it getting disbanded? Is someone else taking over? Are the soldiers being moved to conventional units?

It's still a GRU asset, and presumably the rationale for a military quango still exists.

Whether that asset will be Wagner is less certain.

A lot of Russian telegram channels are saying Putin went against the recommendation of his generals to destroy Wagner and Prigozhin, and this makes Russia and Putin look too weak, so Putin has to go, new leadership will soon come

The question for me is why he would agree to such a thing? The reason why he could mouth off on the first place was because he had a battle harden army behind him. Surprised he didn't just clear off to central Africa why he would go to Belarus I don't know as it leaves him vulnerable.

He and Lukashenko have been close friends for decades, that's supposedly the reason he answer his call while ignoring calls from the top Russians.

I could be wrong but I don't believe Putin has ever had anyone killed after personally guaranteeing their safety, if Prigozhin dies now it will make Putin look even weaker.

Something said yesterday in his rants that went largely under the table is that the truth about casualty figures, operational successes/failures, etc is being hidden from both the public and from Putin. That's the problem with surrounding yourself with yes men that may fall out the window at any moment, nobody will ever tell you the truth if it's bad.

Not sure how you could come up with that idea. You are clearly not aware Russia already stationed troops in Belarus and invaded from there. They could have moved Wagner troops there at any time without the elaborate theatrics.

This was Prigozhin throwing his toys out of the pram because he was being undermined by the Russian MOD. It was not an elaborate CT plot with some unseen 4D chess objective. Certainly not one as pointless as “invade from Belarus” because they already did that.

They've been guarding the border since the Russian withdrawal in April last year, and it's been heavily mined & foritifed since. There would be no surprises.

Wouldn't surprise me if Lukashenko is going to be displaced, Prigozhin negotiated to takeover running at least the military in Belarus in return for not marching on Moscow.

Prigozhin will fortify his position over time and Lukashenko will fall out of a window.
