Not many kremlinites are happy about the Ukraine war, apparently

Thats because they know its doing an insane amount of damage to Russia both financially and military.

If this war was 3 days like Putin promised they would all be praising him. Instead they all got sanctioned and its hit their pockets.

As far as the military goes they also know just how incompetent they really are now, second biggest superpower status reduced to a laughing stock on the world stage.

How long will it take them to be a power on the world stage again? Rebuilding their army, replacing their huge armour and military losses, its going to take many many years

Ukraine aren't getting much done anytime soon though, they still have practically all the east to take back before they try and take Crimea, so while the last couple of days have been a distraction it hasn't changed much in Ukraines favour

This war still has a year or two to run, unless the coup attempt really has weakened Putin to the point he cant go on, even then the next guy still has to find a way out without losing face and that means keeping Crimea at the very least.

Ukraine could dig their heels in and say all or nothing, but that would then put pressure on the west to make him do a deal, we want out of this too.

So many ifs buts and maybes.

Good chance for other regions to break away. And apply for NATO membership.

Reality show at its best. Two actors pretending to be real, a bunker rat and a ex con-cook. The rest of the folk were just mere tools. They conned all. The lot. Talking about cracks in the regime. lol

"Russian criminals can only serve in regular army, parliamentarian says"
No more Wagner recruits, they are starving him.

Making sure there’s no chance of this occuring again, meanwhile wagner change their name to Popovouttadawindowivich. I suspect they will cull down on the command structure using the FSB, reassigning the ring leaders to be a “special operation” force to the front for mine clearing operations in ladas.

I think Saturdays jolly will absolutely benefit Ukraine but there’ll be a bit of lag time first.
Rostov being home to the Russian command and it being taken over has got to have left the place in chaos. Are the officers who were running things even back?
Are supplies which were presumably running through there on the move again?
Suspect all that disruption must impact the battlefield over the next week or two. I’m guessing Ukraine are doing more that we’re hearing just because they’ve been very good at keeping silent over their operations recently.
Just a shame Wagner didn’t keep going for another day or two.

Has Prigozhin tried declaring that Rostov is now an independent people's republic? I think Ukraine might be first to recognise the new country

Ukraine has generally kept things relatively quiet from the regular army units aside from the official media presence - the larger amount of what we see online comes from the irregular, territorial/reserves and so on. There have been some big brutal battles along the original frontlines as established between 2014 and the start of this invasion over the last nearly 18 months of which we've had hardly any information.

Apparently talks and chatter about another Kyiv in 3 days attack

It would be a logical step to try and relieve pressure/take the momentum away from a Ukraine counter-attack but with what forces and the border there is pretty dug in now so unless they employed unconventional means or large scale air support (unlikely) it would be a difficult direction to push.

Looks like this is never happening.

Wagner seem to be dead in the water now, Prigozhin is clinging to a top floor balcony and Wagner troops are being absorbed into the Russian army.

Wagner is no more, all those half naked African women can breath a sigh of relief now.

An unnamed British General, commenting somewhere on Sky News - no link, no proper source. If Wagner are going to mount such an attack, it'll be obvious from spy satellites/planes long before anything happens. It's not like they can teleport troops/equipment from Russia to Belarus. It will take days to stage and prepare an attack and they'll be watched all the time.

And if they do choose to do it? Good. That's a whole load of forces Russia aren't committing to fighting in the East but instead throwing against hardened defences on the Northern border where they'll get ground to mush in no time. Ukraine, remember, is maintaining troops and fortifications along this border in case of a surprise entry into the war by Belarus.

Also sending any hostile aircraft near to Kyiv now means hello Patriots. Very different kettle of fish to 15 months ago.

I am not sure Kyiv in 3 days was a good plan 15 months ago, but it wasn't that far off working. It was probably a 50/50 in all reality.
Its probably a 99% chance of failure now. I believe from last autumn onwards that area has been mined to hell, its difficult terrain anyway, and will have nicely zerod in arty etc.

Actually what Wagner are in Africa is going to be interesting to see play out.
They went from basically security to running a load of infrastructure and mines etc. They have quite a lot of income from there.

Maybe they will just go rogue.

No one really seems to know what is or isnt happening with Wagner.
It would seem Wagner in Russia is done (for now possibly), but outside Russia who knows.
I am sure the FSB or similar would be more than willing to take over.
