Not membership per say, just the removal of their current EU blacklisting so they can begin moving towards the ascension process.

This should be a red line IMO, tell Erdogan where to shove it. Allowing one dictator to annex part of a country in order to get his help standing against another dictator who's currently annexing part of a country is not a solution.

Perhaps the prospective NATO chief, von der Leyen, is putting Turkiye on a slow track to EU membership. Like in the year 2525 if man is still alive.
 
Tupolev Tu-214SR flying over Russia - one of their so called doomsday planes, also noticed their now redundant Open Skies planes are flying a lot - maybe repurposed due to shortages, etc.

EDIT: Likewise noticed they are using their ELINT, etc. aircraft a lot more in recent weeks, including some of their airborne command planes appearing to be used in intelligence gathering roles as well as possibly general military transport (again maybe due to sanctions hitting their air fleet).

EDIT: Busy day out there, obviously a lot due to Biden's visit, multiple Rivet Joints, E-3 sentries and even a Constant Phoenix.

I’m quite sure the EU will manage to spin up some of its infamous bureaucracy to slow down the process till Erdogan is gone.
