Excellent morality....we know they are wrong, but if the (clearly morally bankrupt by all their actions to date) Russians have used them, then hey ho it's fine.
So Switzerland is being invaded, the invaders are raping you women and girls, castrating your men, murdering indiscriminately, kidnapping thousands of Swiss children, targeting civilian areas with artillery including cluster munitions. Switzerland is offered cluster munitions, the Swiss military say they can help drive in the invaders out. You are now telling us you would say Switzerland shouldn't use them?

This guy has already made it clear that he only cares for himself and no-one else. He's extremely sacred of a nuclear war and will do anything to protect himself. Even if it means sacrificing Ukraine.
My primary and selfish instinct is that I don't want it to spill over into my life. Unless Putin is assassinated and a rapid deconflict process takes place, I'm still not convinced we won't see the use of tactical nukes or worse. And I'd like the refugees from both sides to go home.
Russia’s deployment of more than 100,000 troops in the Lyman-Kupyansk area is not a threat to the Ukrainian military, Serhiy Cherevatyi, spokesperson for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told Radio Svoboda on July 18
“This problem is not new and the Ukraine Armed Forces have not given them any progress for many months, and have been hitting them hard,” Cherevatyi said.
“It wasn’t yesterday that 100,000 appeared. This number has existed for a long time, it can be a little more, a little less.”
Despite its size, the group is not well prepared and motivated, Cherevatyi stressed.
“Yes, it’s large and it’s necessary to take into account its size,” he said.
“However, this number is not an indicator of a threat or cause for fear.”
Commenting on data that suggest 900 Russian tanks have been brought to the Lyman-Kupyansk area, the officer said this is old Soviet equipment, while the latest models are less common on the battlefield.
The Ukrainian military reported on July 17 that the Russian invaders had deployed more than 100,000 personnel in the Lyman-Kupyansk area. Almost the same number of soldiers participated in the war in Afghanistan.
The frontline situation in eastern Ukraine continues to remain fraught as Russian forces launch an offensive near Kupyansk in Kharkiv Oblast, the Commander of Ukraine’s Ground Forces, Lt. Gen. Oleksandr Syrskyi said on July 17.

Those cluster bombs arrived at a good time. Get the body bags ready.
In all likelihood those guys are getting drawn down to defend Bakhmut, there's no way Russia will want to lose that city given what it took to take it.
Out lf curiosity (drunk as I am ) at what point is escalation too much? At what point do words no longer count?
What point are you no longer happy with?
I really don't cRe anymore but I am curious. When it too much too much?
One of the points he made was it’s one thing to be trained and approved to fly (some terminology I forget) but another thing entirely to be a pilot ready for war.

I guess if we are being serious, NATO would likely not cross the line of providing strategic level weapons, current gen aircraft, CBRN weapons. I genuinely think everything else could potentially be on the table should the need arise, I doubt we'd supply anything significant naval purely down to the logistics and the threat/vulnerability of destroyers/frigates/large ships etc in the Black Sea.
As for Putins red lines... well how long is a piece of string. They have shifted so many times now its difficult to take him serious anymore.

I'm under the impression tha these arnt fresh pilots out of training. These are already battle hardened pilots with plenty of hours of experience, some of whom have already shown surprising adaptability. Ukraine are mostly lacking sufficient number of airframes.

Putin escalated the day he ordered the full on invasion in 2022 after his partial invasion in 2014.
At this point I'd be happy if we gave Ukraine any weapons short of WMD. No chemical, biological or nuclear. Other than that its all fair game. What ever they need to drive Russia out and I include hitting Russian military bases in Russia that are involved in the war. Why should Ukraine be working to different rules to Russia?
Words are wasted on Putin, he only cares about turning Ukraine into a vassal of Russia and grinding its population into submission to Russia.
