So at least 2 million shells a year, that's a lot of shells. Rheinmetall said they will ramp up production to 600k shells a year so they will still need to source supplies from other countries to close out the gap (unless any of the old socialist countries can domestically produce 152's and other comparable soviet era shells)?
The EU is ready to produce over 1 million shells a year. The Ukrainians use between 4,000 and 8,000 shells per day but that number will need to increase.

I actually have big concerns kind of related to this - hopefully for our own defence it won't be necessarily but we certainly could be supporting Ukraine more in this respect.
But we seem to far too much depend on things continuing within the framework of logic and reason as we've come to believe/hope the world works - for example what if someone worse than Putin took advantage of this situation to seize power in Russia and decided to do something crazy? which is something which completely could happen even if relatively low likelihood - we'd be poorly prepared for it and take enormous damage before being able to stabilise the situation or even caught so off guard they'd be successful.
Something like Russia's entire [remaining] air fleet mobilised for an invasion of the UK seems utterly nuts but that doesn't mean it won't happen and in the current situation the chances of it have increased substantially even if still low.
Things like production of munitions needs to seriously be ramped up again in this country.

Interesting details have emerged. The horse face aka lavrov and Thomas Graham Jr. have been having meetings for a while. Also Thomas Graham Jr. was blocking support for Ukraine.

Whilst I completely wholeheartedly agree. We supposedly cant afford what we have as it is. I mean our own forces training is suffering because we dont have enough ammunition to train as we would like. W struggle to get range time unless for operational need. It would be interesting how they could spin ramping up production and holding significant reserves, I fear it would be a hugely unpopular move owing to current economic conditions.
Seriously though we NEED to be more prepared.
