I really hope this is more of an after-action report detail rather than something that someone is tasked with doing in the middle of a battle.

The first unit I was stationed with was an artillery unit and timeliness in both striking targets and getting the hell out of ther was imperative.

It’s likely drone operators do a lot of the collection, although you do have a grid reference. Could get tricky with a battery fire plan.

So no long range weapons again.they, just need more air defence.

We need to decide if we actually want Ukraine to win because all we are doing now is making them bleed when we could give them the stuff they need to actually win.

Not sure what they expect Ukraine to do tbh.

Do they need long range weapons? Anything coming from the West will come with a caveat that makes them almost useless.

Those type of weapons need to be produced domestically.

Plenty of stuff like command centres, logistic/repair/maintenance hubs and transport infrastructure, etc. within the range of longer range stuff but outside regular artillery, etc. which would be within any kind of limitations imposed by Western donors, which taking out is crucial to degrading the ability and will for Russian forces to fight.

Though actually not easy and expensive (though that takes on a different dimension in war) to construct hardened shelters do work even against Lancets, I'm surprised they've not got them let alone air defences - a single Lancet shouldn't get anywhere near those planes.

I had to chuckle at the array of tyres at the side of the apron as well in the context of what the Russians are doing LOL.
The immediate problem for Ukraine is working out just how Russia got a Lancet all that way. The typical range of a Lancet drone is 30km yet this one had to have travelled 70km which would indicate this was launched well behind Ukrainian lines. Either SF's managed to sneak through an undefended line or there's spy's doing Russia's dirty work.

Ukraine has some long range gear in the form of long range drones some going as far 800km but there no substitute for cruise missiles which travel a lot faster, less prone to detection and interception.

I suspect the manufacturing of an equivalent system to SS/SCLP wouldn't be beyond Ukraine but it would be expensive and resource intensive. Also parts would have to come from the west which might make certain people nervous about "escalation" as it would be obvious what they were intended for. So yes long range gear for now needs to be supplied by the west.

The upgraded version, I believe referred to as Izdeliye 51 (not sure if it is the 51 or 53 with enhanced range), has a range of approx. 70km.

Why is he stood in front of a rusted train cart? is that the headquarters of one of the pyramid schemes he used to run before he changed his name to grant schapps?

This is part of the levelling up strategy, they are starting at the front first as they was refurbished 3 years ago and looking a bit tatty. So its time to start over and work down again.
