I don't know, Russian propaganda seems obsessed with labelling people living in the UK and the white folk in the US as 'Anglo Saxons', just a unusual label to give us (although not wholly inaccurate but it does ignore other large groups that settled here such as Danes, Norseman and the Normans). If I were Cornish, Welsh, Scottish or Irish I might be a bit more offended by it but as I said it's weird take on the UK population, just call us British like the rest of the world does.
Its a generic term for white anglo-saxon i.e. who share a common language, cultural and political outlook i.e. liberal, democratic rather than geographic boundaries in latin america white americans are typically called "anglos" for example its an easily identifiable trait for those who aren't

LOL despite what some say Ukraine was never close to joining a military alliance under any government pro or anti Moscow prior to the 2014 invasion, nominally Ukraine was quite happy to merely cooperate with foreign military alliances with a healthy defence industry and skillset of its own to build on. I can't see Russia agreeing to return to 1990 borders though. (EDIT: Slightly less glossy side of that though - Ukraine's defence industry likely wouldn't want Western oversight or regulations involved as some of the stuff they were up to was a bit dubious with a lot of involvement in the weapons black market, etc.).

How could Russia possibly be trusted?

If my reading of the situation is right they are struggling to maintain defence of the currently occupied territory and need another 2-3 years to spin up manufacturing, etc. to rebuild a modernised military to replace what they've lost. They've recently launched projects to restart production of the T-80 tank and restart/expand existing or new programs for developing modernised Ka-52 and Mi-28 helicopters amongst similar projects including new generation armoured fighting vehicles like the VPK-7829 which are ramping into series production. Any negotiations currently will sadly almost certainly be stalling so they can get this stuff operational.

If there's any indication that they've already lost, this is it.

The terms should be

- Russia leaves Ukraine's borders.
- Russia returns all children forcibly removed.
- Russia returns all and any POWs.
- Putin and his cronies are handed over to the Hague for trial for their war crimes.

Ukraine is already militarily aligned with NATO, regardless of NATO membership, Russia ensured that by invading.

Pretty much, although this war was about nothing more than a robbery and enslavement. Ukraine was at least 10 government administrations away from joining the EU or NATO.

Putin should have stopped with Crimea and the other few region's of Ukraine he stole because he literally got away with robbery and murder. Now Putin will lose those all of Ukraine and be facing rebuilding a military Russia cannot afford while grappling with sanctions.

IMO, Russia has gone from peak win to peak stupidity in 8 years. Putin and his cronies deserve all they get. Hopefully that’s dragged out of office and prosecuted by the Russian public.

Apparently with that airliner which emergency landed in a field they are prepping it and the field to try and take off once the ground hardens/freezes in winter...

Sort of inevitable with these strong man dictator types. Just think if Hitler had stopped whilst he was ahead and (for example) had never taken on the USSR and USA.

Russia will never recover. They’ll always be generations behind the rest. Putin threw it away for nothing, even if he were to now hold Crimea and some parts of Ukraine, it achieves nothing and it’s hard to see Ukraine not slowly slowly claiming it back and continuing to hit Russias interests.

He had his warm water port and was enjoying ‘western decadence’. Silly. I guess that’s what you get for surrounding yourself with yes men and making them all fear you.

They get away with it once, they think they can get away with it again and again until they are actually stopped. This was, potentially still is, one of the big risks with this situation - if Ukraine has simply folded one way or another Putin would have continued, even if he didn't set out to, it is just the nature of the beast - Europe's peace and stability would have been threatened NATO or nuclear weapons or not.

How could Russia possibly be trusted?

Vladolf and his bum chums go to The Hague.
Complete withdrawal of troops from Ukraine.
Form a proper democracy.
100 mile demilitarised zone from the Baltic to the Black Sea.
The removal of nuclear weapons and troops from Belarus.
Withdraw troops from Moldova.
Pay war reparations.
Officially apologise for Russian actions.
Putin officially changes his name to Vladolf Putler.

Pick any 7 of those.

Noticed Russia has a Tupolev Tu-214PU up a lot lately, presidential fleet command post, dunno whether due to sanctions, etc. impacts like with some other types they are having to use their special purpose planes more for general purposes or maybe recent events has Putin paranoid or something I dunno.

EDIT: I know some of these planes have equipment which can detect drones but dunno what the 214PU has in that respect if at all - potentially part of efforts to detect incoming drones to Moscow, etc.
