People forget there are plenty of people in the ex USSR states who were middle age or even old whilst that still existed.
There will still be people with loyalties and ties that didn't simply go away when the wall fell. ( Imean literally and figuratively here)

There would be people in the UK happy to sell out for cash without having had any real ties.

Can anyone give me a summary of the last 2 months? I used to check in here daily but haven't for a while now. A youtuber I follow claimed Russia has been making some large gains. True/false/exaggerated? Either it's been looking like a long haul for a long time now.

Depends on your definition of "large". Its mostly a stalemate with areas measured in tens or hundreds of sq metres or occasionally single digits of sq km changing hands per day. My back of a fag packet estimate is that less than 1% of the land has been gained or lost by either side.

The numbers of people and equipment reported as lost by Russia are staggering though. We don't have any reliable numbers for the Ukraine side.

If it doesn't get sorted in the new year, the rest of the EU nations can just send the money to Ukraine directly. It just makes things a bit more awkward all round, and lacks the element of European solidarity.

I suspect it's far more likely that people doing this kind of crap *haven't* been given life imprisonment for treason that has led to people like this, doing things like this.

Some of these people will spend more time defending Putin and protesting they are making America great again than anything else.

It actually disgusting some of the things I see supposed “patriots” say about their own country simply to be sit on the fence about Ukraine.

I see an Australian say something along the lines of “ I unfortunately would go so far as fighting for Russia, the moral degradation of the west has lead them to provoke west with Russia via Ukraine”

It’s pathetic, I always find it funny when they say “we should take care of our own people at home” yeah okay like that money would ever go towards helping people at home. Something something socialist.

The term 'patriot' has basically become 'I only care about myself'. It's a true shame. I began to appreciate the values here, only for MAGA to completely destroy integrity and giving a damn about other people.
