Looks like a fairly large flight of MiG-31s (not sure if just escort or Kinzhal carriers) as well as the TU-95s.

EDIT: Aircraft used to support NATO intelligence gathering aircraft already well on the way to positions - looks like they are expecting a larger than normal attack based on what I can infer - unfortunately they don't broadcast a lot of the actual intel aircraft on these missions any more.

Only seeing 17 confirmed so far.

EDIT: Missed +4 TU-22s.

Shame Ukraine can't hit those bombers - they make up a sizeable portion of Russia's operational fleet.

Sorry meant 21, 17 TU95 and 4 TU22

Apparently one of their bombs yesterday was found laying in a field broken up, not clear if Russia itself shot it down or if it failed but the wreckage was 430km from the closest front line, which is why they can't shoot these planes down

Missiles have been launched, waiting to see the impact now

Russians started the attack with drones first, 124 shaheed drones launched today

It's a joke should be allowed to destroy them at source so they don't take off.

With what though? They'd need a missile with 2000km range if fired from Ukraine. Or suicide drones with 2000km range. Or launch a storm shadow attack from Finland. Or use a submarine to launch a Tomahawk attack from the sea. Or a B2 stealth bomber to drop JDAMS.

The only thing they seem to have would be somehow getting a sabotage team across the border, travel 2000km into Russia and use C4

Need a long haul two stage booster - a storm shadow style turbo jet for low level flight, then jetison the turbojet to allow a solid fuel booster to get towards altitude and finally an anti aircraft missile or two such as star streak for the final engagement.

An alternative is look for an inland waterway close to where the bombers take off.. underwater drone and then ise missiles to take them out.

They are also rather noisy due to the props breaking the sound barrier.. hence you can bypass the flares by following the noise..

Or sand in the oil tanks.. they’d fail on takeoff/flight.

Alternatively target the support infrastructure or crews. Issue is for a 71 year old design there will be a large number if spare parts.. we just need to use the Haynes manual to find the specific part they need for holding the missiles in the bays/pylons.
