Maybe the Ukrainians should change targets, instead of hitting Russian Generals start wiping out the air defences of Russia, this will make the F-16 more effective.

No news of the GLSDB usage yet?

While it's funny, it should be noted that the S-400 is not an anti-cruise missile battery. Not all of the missiles they use can actually hit cruise missiles and even if they had been loaded with ones that can their radar only has a ~30KM detection limit for cruise missiles due to how low they fly (and would have needed to be sent data from another source such as an AWACS or another SAM unit in order to engage).

Obviously the fact they weren't getting data that would have let them shoot at them (assuming they had capable missiles) and they didn't appear to be guarded by other AA units capable of defending the S-400 form cruise missiles, reflects badly on Russia.

In theory though the S-400 should be used as part of a multi-layered defence or it just becomes a target itself, or in this case so ineffective they just fly right over it :s

Is there any missile system can do it all? The ship carried SM6's seem to be pretty capable, albeit very expensive at like $4 million per missile, but the US ships in the Red Sea have used them to shoot down everything including drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles

Ukraine has so many drone pilots and drones now, Zelensky has signed a decree making them part of a new branch of the military

Probably the first country in the world to give drone/unmanned systems their own military branch

This was probably done so they can fix some of their logistics issues. I've read that Ukraine has thousands and thousands of drones sitting in store that can't get to the front line, old school military commanders in the army probably place higher value on logistics for other things. Having their own branch, they will get their own funding and leadership
