It's not often I post a RT link but thought this was worthy:

This is Russia Today?
Some other reporter was talking (on R4) about being told not to cover some earlier crisis where Russia was bombing apartment blocks, he left.
It's pretty unlikely she had the editors permission to talk frankly :D

Putin certainly likes extracting the urine, I'll give him that. From the BBC Breaking News banner.

Doesnt really mean anything:

"A White House spokesperson tells the AFP news agency Washington was informed that Russia would test a missile."

"Artyom Liss, from the BBC Russian service, says the Russians test-fire missiles quite frequently."

Sorry, kiddo, don't catch what you are getting at.

I thought it would go over your head. Let me spell it out for you. You're not the sharpest tool in the box, so maybe you'd be better off keeping quiet and instead, let the adults do the talking. Now run along !

You're missing the point. He's not trying to say Putin is/was a humanitarian, rather that the west are just as bad as he is. We are hypocrites, which is why there is no move to war against Putin and Russia, because they are doing what we did, arguably with more right.

As Putin himself said what about Haiti...? What about the WMDs of Iraq that conveniently turned into a humanitarian mission (all along...) after there were none found? What about Libya, a civil war with one half of the country against another where the west took sides? What about Syria, where both sides are just as bad as each other, with arguably more of the population for Assad than against...

Most of our wars haven't been about humanitarian missions, they have been about power, removing anti west leaders in favour of more ameanable ones... I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out the west had a hand in the protests in some way in Ukraine either.

^^This^^

NATO & co only supports other countries when it suits there needs if they did really care about humanitarian mission why do they still support countries like Saudi Arabia ? Bahrain? Israeli? after all the war crimes and human right abuses. Just look at how quickly the new Ukrainian government were accept by the west? How many neo nazis are in high positions.

No, you are too bright for me. That use of a rolleyes got me fair and square.

So what did you mean by your quote? Are you saying Putin is a baddie? Who are the goodies?

I am quite sure that almost all of the news stories are propaganda against the other side...
edit: I am sure there are hundreds of military exercises that happen every month, but it just so happens that one happens in the midst of this crisis, then it gets reported on by every single news network, saying that it is an act of aggression...

Highlights from President Putin's news conference which has now ended:

Events in Kiev amount to an anti-constitutional coup

Always makes me laugh when the russians talk about this.

What exactly do they think they did with the Tsar in the February revolution ? was he politely removed as part of a democractic process ? me thinks not.

I thought Putin thought he was Tsar in all but name.

promising -

"In one hint of progress on Tuesday, Ukraine's new Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said tentative talks had taken place between Russian and Ukrainian ministers. He described them as "rather timid" but "first steps," speaking at a press conference in Kiev earlier today."

Not for the first time have you dropped in some pointless comment yet when called, fail to back it up.
Contribute something to the thread or go away.

In all fairness your comment about Syria could be called into question on so many levels it is kind of hard to know where he should begin with anything else. For instance, why do you think we will need Putins help one day and why do you think he would give it to us? Syria is a perfect example of that not happening.

She does, her show (break the set) is on the American branch of RT (she's a yank) and she is just as outspoken about the US when they do something she doesn't agree with. It's actually a pretty cool show, a lot of people dismiss it as it's on the US RT but it's actually really balanced, to the point where I have never really understood why she's on RT (apart from the fact it's probably the only major US news channel that would really let her criticise the US properly ofc).

Anyone seen this it was leaked in early February:

It was posted on here a while back, why do you think the USA likes speading democracy so much? because they make sure that it's their stooge which gets elected...

The only difference between Russia and the USA is Russia doesn't have control of the worlds media and international institutions, so when they 'intervene' in another countries business it's because they're evil Hitler types looking to conquer the world and not heroic freedom fighters saving the world from terrorism and evil.

The USA is a lot better at propaganda that's all, but if you look at a map and who was involved in foreign wars over the past century, it's clear which country is empire building, the USA probably has more bases surrounding Russia than Russia has foreign bases.
