Let’s see how Russia responds as they will be vastly outnumbered now.

Why wait? They have entered Ukraine, with his announcement last night he has effectively taken Ukrainian territory and made it part of Russia. Yeah it will likely hurt our economies doing it but it will hurt theirs way more. All the property they own in London, seize it all, the only place we can really hurt them is their wallets.
It didnt make any difference in 2014. And the world's financial system is far more globalised now, plus you have a deep and liquid DLT market for everyone to use
Not for long if Russia feels like it, if they were so inclined they could quickly vastly outnumber Ukraine

Because you don't show your hand all at once, and yes the other options might take more time to organise / make palatable.
Seize it all, sell it off and use the money to help people pay the sodding gas bill.
The problem is, that part of Ukraine are Russians, they all speak Russian and think themselves as Russian.
Its all good and well, but it could take weeks to gather, kit up, arm and mobilise any reserve force. Russia could be at the Polish border by the time any of those reserves get their hands on a rifle if Russia had any desire to do so.

lol...quite. Most wealthy Russians caught up in it will be innocent, who don't give a hoot about Putin and what he's doing
There's zero incentive for Russia to pull back if you go straight to the harshest sanctions. The recently announced ones will hurt, they'll be ramped up if/when things progress.
Potentially yea, but the US has started significant investment to start manufacturing semi conductors now. I think China will allow Taiwan to operate as it is until the US is self sufficient, then China will make its move. The US won't do anything then, its not strategically viable

I don't think it matters from Russian perspective, they'll have planned for that happening, it's not going to change invasion plans, what matters is how difficult the Ukrainians make the invasion
It actually might. There are only three things that will stop Putin. Guaranteed
- long rifle and experienced gunman
- his own generals dragging him out to the street so the cheering crowd can lynch him
- angry oligarchs and mafia.
Any of which he deserves. Let's be honest about it, the man is a psychopath and megalomaniac.
Freezing accounts, wealth and property of all Russian citizens in the West with immediate repatriation under "your mad leader is about to invade a sovereign country under pretence of 'some Russians dwelling in that area for a while', since we don't do wars anymore in civilised Europe, as much as we love ya - you have to return temporarily back to mother Rus cause we don't want him to mistake Chelsea for Donietsk" clause.
I think that would very quickly achieve at least one of those things in the first paragraph.

Shhh, you'll blow my cover.
They are all dodgy as hell, we just allow it as we make money from it. We reinvest the funds from police auctions into policing / good causes, this would just be on a bigger scale.
