why, Ukraine is not in NATO and unless NATO are ready for the logical next step which is war with Russia, then why would anyone look at that and say it's a sane next move. Ukriane is literally of no significance to the biggest player in NATO and whilst that won't be what most people want to hear it's the bitter truth. Unless the US see a case put their troops (as part of NATO) in direct conflict with Russian forces on Ukrainian soil then it will never happen.

I get what you're saying but Russia will take over the country before it lets formal NATO ascension, so it's not like they are asking for Ukraine's neutrality it to make it harder for Russia to invade. You get what I mean, they are not worried about Ukraine becoming harder to invade.

There were tweets earlier suggesting the Zelensky may visit Mariupol tomorrow; looks a little risky to me considering there are Russian forces on the ground in Donetsk
2017 figures...that's literally the lows in exports.
Trade balances have widened. Ok, maybe not tiny, but 20/25%. But when you include low debt, gold reserves, energy independence and the ability to leverage EU energy dependance. Putin is obviously willing to use those measures, nothing short of war will stop him i believe

I guess it's a good thing but it all seems to have gone eerily quiet in terms of Russian movements and attacks within Ukraine
There was rumours of an internet blackout in eastern Ukraine earlier, not sure if it was actually confirmed though

Interesting that Putin seems to have signed the recognition of the breakaway regions 2 hours before the security council meeting to decide on it.
Wonder how long before Macron and the likes realise Putin is just playing with them and he has already decided pretty much what he is going to do - the only reason he involves himself with these diplomatic measures really I suspect is to confirm to himself that nothing has really changed.

I'm banned from driving so dont pay for petrol and it never gets cold enough in this country to put the central heating on.

I literally can't think of another Russian export. (Pretty sure the Irish make vdoka)

most of our electric comes from gas, not sure how much of that is Russian, but would suspect a large amount
American as far as I can tell from a brief search.
Regardless, surely you understand that there WILL be an economic impact, which we will repay through tax, in some form or another?
