What if they dont mind this at all? They can raise money elsewhere, have you ever thought that the West has more to loose from this than Russia?

It would be certainly change the dynamics of the world, but I'm doubting the outcome being mutually assured destruction.
It would be a huge test of NATO resolve that hasn't really happened yet. It would come down to how much is the West willing to concede to an attacker. I think that could end up being quite a chunk given the weak handling of Ukraine so far.
They might just view escalating and nuclear holocaust to be worse than losing a part of NATO.
General Patreas interviewed on R4pm - strategically they maybe able to slow them down with Javelins, but have had little time to prepare with mine-fields.

In the energy and financial sectors, Europe relies on russian gas to keep its economy going and the Russkies have one of the lowest debt/gdp ratio worldwide. Also they have good relations with China, so they can borrow money from them

though thats the thing nato cannot conceed, if it did others would be next upto the block, for the moment putin is only after ukraine, but we know he harks back to the soviet era, he wants the might of the soviet block again. he doesnt seem to understand the world has moved on from those days.

Gas is a problem yes, however financially Russia is basically a nothing burger quite frankly, our economy dwarfs it, debt depending how its leveraged isn't necessary a bad thing, and relations to China are an unknown, China would have more to lose siding with Russia.
Russia is relatively poor for its size, has bad relations with the vast majority of the world with not many people it can call friends, those who it can are also nothing on the world stage.
I suggest you have a look into his past and the things he got up to in Russia. The guy is an absolute spoon who's taking his viewers on a ride to make serious bank. If that's who you get your balanced views from then god help you.
Instead of posting a link to some video, why don't you offer people here your own opinion seen as you're so enlightened?
They did say this yesterday, but I would definitely be taking it with a grain of salt.
If things escalated, the reality of things would probably be quite different.

Who is frothing for war? I've not seen anyone in here really advocate for war, yes some are advocating for us to help Ukraine but not put our troops into conflict with Russia. Putin is the one frothing for war here, it isn't Ukraine that is invading Russia. The apologist for Putin really do need to take a look at themselves. We had similar people in 1939 when Germany invaded Poland.
We've gotten in to the problem because of uncontrolled globalism and capitalism. Sold our industries off for cheap slavery wages in other parts of the world i.e. India and China. My town used to be the cotton capital of the world until the owners shut them all down.
We need to build back our manufacturing base so we have something to offer the rest of the world. Otherwise we have nothing and are open to being pressured by other countries.

I believe that the size of an economy is irrelevant to a country's potential to wage war, They may have a small economy in size but that doesnt tell the whole story. They can be self reliant in just about everything plus they can still trade with China, and China has issued a statement that it supports Russia, so...
Also Russia, inheriting the USSR relations may have strained relations with half the world but the other half doesnt look at them in a negative way, the contrary...
