So getting 4 new tyres soon but having a problem finding some decent fronts. on the car there's currently 225/40/19 but i cant get goodyear eagle f1's in that size. any other recommendations? or just take a step down and go for 225/35?

Ordered some PS4S for the front summers (hopefully will be able to change within a month of so). Excellent price at Camskill for 245/35/19s if anyone is in the market!

I think I will be getting some PS4S quicker than I expected. My track day at Silverstone seems to have put paid to the MPSS I bought just before it, if current grip levels mean anything :(

Expensive track day.

The mileage diagram, be it accurate or otherwise pretty much sums up my experience of Conti tyres vs Michelin. I haven't used Contis since CSC2 because they wore out so quickly. Michelin by comparison (and I've had several sets of different tyres over the years) have been extremely durable.

No complaints about the performance of the Contis, but they seem to be made of butter in terms of wear.

I agree Michelin seem to last very well indeed. My PS4's have done around 10k miles now and the fronts are still on around 6mm with next to no wear on the rears at all. I don't drive it hard but a lot of my driving is on bendy roads rather than motorway. Very pleased with them from every aspect, wet and dry grip is brilliant, they're quiet enough and last well. Winner.

Do people think PS4S are worth £30 more a corner vs CSC6? I know it's quite a subjective question....

Absolutely, the people I know who ran both CSC6 and MPSS, had this to tell me. CSC6 much better in the wet and seemed on par in the dry. However on track for subjective feel MPSS just beat the CSC6 but it was marginal, however longevity wise the CSC6 on the track did not last long but on the road they were OK, yet MPSS lasted more than twice the amount of track time and seemed to last a few thousand miles longer on road too.

PS4S is claimed by Michelin to last longer than MPSS which already has better longevity than CSC6, as such I would say they were absolutely worth the extra as they should last a lot longer and will offer you better performance too. :)

Thanks for the replies guys. I don't do much mileage (currently) so it's not a big a concern as others, although it's good to keep in mind. Wet weather performance is a bit more key seeing as I live in Aberdeen, so cold/damp is pretty much the norm for nearly half the year haha.

Still fancy the PS4S mind....

So I'm replacing my punctured tyre tomorrow, the other front has just over 6mm of tread left on it, is this close enough that I shouldn't worry about changing that too, or should I replace both to be safe?
