**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Bearing in mind 0% in this context is 1.6mm they are probably incorrectly basing it on 8mm (the US starting depth) somehow (which would make it ~15.6% if my maths is right), but not sure how they'd make that mistake.

Four new CC2s going on today (ouch). About time as the old Primacy4 are 7 years old and just starting to reach the markers. Just in time given the mass of rain we're due and the colder temps. Not that the P4s are bad and they've lasted.

Ok. The CC2 have more grip that the old P4s. No rear skating/skipping and turning in is positive.
Not much additional noise but what i have noticed is it throws more muck. I have mudguards front and rear and it seemed to splatter around the wheel well a little more.

With the tread pattern it is going to - big grooves between the blocks.

Interestingly on my Navara the CC2s seem best 1-2 PSI above the door card values - most other tyres are best at the door card values.

Curious one with my Navara and tyre related handling and noise as temperatures drop:

Cheap Runway tyres - sloppy as soon as temperatures get to single digits.
Conti Cross Contact - start to notice a change around 3-4C.
Michelin Cross Climate 2 SUV - handling starts to change around 3C (was expecting them to do better).
Bridgestone Turanza t005 - holds up well to pretty much 0C, only really starts to noticeably drop off when actually freezing which I didn't expect.
Falken Wildpeak AT3WA - so far held up to any low temperatures we've had in the UK in the last couple of years.

My new to me car has michelin ps4's all round, it's not done a lot of miles so plenty of tread left, but two of the tyres are dated 2019 and the other two 2023.
No cracks that I can see on the older ones but is it worth changing them?

Unless anything obviously worn or wrong with them I wouldn't consider changing tyres at 5 years old. Generally I'll start to think about it at about 7 years.

Only thing I would say in this context - I had a set of Bridgestones where one was slightly older than the other 3 and there was a noted compound change between the years (which I only discovered after trying to narrow down why something didn't feel right) - and something never felt right until I changed the older one and rotating the wheels the something not feeling right would follow - so not sure if there was something wrong with that tyre or the difference in compound was enough to make a noticeable difference. (I tend to be overly sensitive to that stuff though - a lot of people probably wouldn't notice and/or bother about it).

Can anyone recommend places to look for tyres online?

I’m looking for continental allseasoncontact 2 in 275/35/r20. Can’t find them anywhere. Looked on black circles Asda tyres and some random ones from google but no luck.

I’d appreciate any help.

Thanks.

My front drivers side looked a bit ropey after I looked at it after work yesterday. Went to drive to work this morning and got tyre pressure warning. 1 PSI :D

Need to get it sorted fast so just went with what I already have. P Zero PZ4. They'll be fitted tomorrow. Thanks for looking.

Only place I think I can find them is https://www.tyre-shopper.co.uk/continental-all-season-contact-2-tyres?size=275-35-20&speed=Y but never used that company so not sure how good they are
Thanks I'm skeptical. I put my reg in and selected the right size on that website. And it doesn't show as an available option.
