**Unofficial Tyre Thread**

Had new F1AS2 on the rear of my S2000. They feel horrible - even after 500miles, have they changed the tyre design/construction?

If i push the wheel with my foot the car moves on the tyre. Maybe its new tread combined with old tread on the front, but the rear feels so disconnected compared to front now.

I see Bridgestone have just launched the RE003 - would be worth a look

I'm sure I was quite vocal about this exact issue quite a long time ago and nobody believed me?

This is the 3rd pair and none felt like this but I think it maybe the combination of new rear and worn front. Or simply the alignment is out and is exaggerated by new tyres.

They felt pretty poor on my Evo. Sure, loads of grip especially in the wet, but as a drivers tyre they felt very lacking.

its a performance orientated potenza, so the sidewalls will be rock hard.

from memory, this is something you weren't keen on so may be one to miss.

I am certainly interested in them, depending on price and performance compared to the AD08Rs, it may be my next tyre. Just got to wait to see what sizes are coming to the UK

My commute changed so my pothole filled B road i like to drive at full attack mode is now gone, plus in the winter the F1AS2 give massive amounts of confidence on these roads. I'm polybushed in a 2000 model and with Koni's on stiff, thhe tyre compliance ultimately improved grip due to dealing with bumps better. They also were very good on a dry track day.

However these latest F1AS2 definately feel different to previous sets. I had S001s before these so familiar with how they handle. Remember Ive had this S2000 nearly 9 years and tried everying, including Toyo T1Rs :'(

RE003 looks decent, I was considering RE002 before but wet weather was putting me off. Now I just drive a commute and motorway (car sits at heathrow a lot too)

in that case, seeing as I am half way through my current set, I would imagine that you will have a set before me.

I look forward to reading your thoughts :D

Didn't know this was coming out, just fitted a new pair of RE002s on the rear to replace my old worn out fronts.

Really? Noooo! Should I cancel my order and go for something else do you guys think? I really like them on my e34 but perhaps my m5 deserves better?

Bit of a difference between an Evo and an M5 tbh so couldn't comment. I don't know what tyres the M5 reacts to well.

What tyres should I go for on my e46? At the moment I have 225 40 18 all the way around. I'd like to keep it to the same size and can purchase uniroyal rs3's for a decent price. I think 255 on the rears will rub on the rears.

255 rears is the correct size for an E46 Sport so how come you think 225 will rub? Why is it on the wrong rear tyre size, you said the wheels were not fakes?

Could be 4 fronts I guess

I'm going to have to replace the backs on the civic as rather annoyingly the offside one got worn a good bit more than the other when they were on the front and I failed to notice how out of alignment it was. Now got a 2mm tyre alongside a 4mm+ one

I quite fancy changing the sport contacts, other than eagle f1's I'm not sure what to look at. Where the car really struggles is damp/wet grip at the front end (where the new two will be going) as it's so stupidly stiff

I thought as much, I think the previous owner wanted stretch on the rears so put 225's on. I feel 255 will rub on the arches with the car being low.
