Valentines.

My girlfriend and I agree that cards and presents on Valentine's day are stupid, but we are seeing each other that evening - going to dinner and then to a drinks reception in Tower Bridge, and probably to a couple of bars afterwards.

I think it's the thought that counts, so long as your partner knows you love them you don't have to spend a lot, a card can be good value in that respect.

St. Valentine's day is supposed to be about sending the object of your unrequited love an anonymous token of your affection, and not about having to spend megabucks on your bird. :(
Agreed. Surely this used to be the case? Someone pointed out to me lately that St V's day has been hijacked by established couples, instead of it being for singles to make their (albeit often anonymous) move.

Sadly there's only three people I could consider sending cards to - 1) I have already expressed feelings for and he isn't keen, 2) fancies me but doesn't want to get serious and 3) is far too far away and I don't know his address anyway.

Sigh.

Having an anti-Valentine's party on Friday or Saturday with my two best female mates - pyjamas, ice-cream and Bridget Jones. Mmmm.

Pressie :

1.) Making her a card, or possibly the 'tesco valuecard' :p
2.) http://www.lasenza.co.uk/level3.asp?style=5536&s=1&category=22&se=Luxury Embroidery

But can't decide on whether to get the black or white...... She's got black hair, with brown eyes, and a light tan......WHAT DO YOU RECKON LADIES im still undecided but probably still leaning towards black ???????? (O and im going for the shorties :D )

Evening :

Managed to get a table at scruffy's pretty close to where we live. £25p/h with 3 courses and a glass of champers, which seems really nice. Neither of us are too fussed about valentines, but if i didn't do something nice im sure she would be a little unhappy. Then onto 'ropewalk' for a drinkie after 8.30 and/ or back home, depending on the mood ;)

My first real valentines with a girl i really care for, plus we've been friends for ages, and are announcing it to our housemates tomorrow  We've been like ninja's since xmas........

OOOOOOO im getting so excited i can't wait :D

she wanted the works, I told her I don't believe in it and won't be. So instead i'm having to go to hers so she can "take me out to dinner" on the tuesday. I gave her lots of warning saying that I don't do valentines day and now she's trying to guilt trip me. If she wants it, she can do it I'm not organising anything. Moaning about stereotypical roles does not work when they're useless at cooking  .

was meant to be seeing 'Hot Fuzz' (no porn references please, you know the actual film i mean..) and going for a lil meal at local pub, but alas, bf is now working... so il be at home watching a dvd :p it bothers me if i really put my mind to it (in other words, if i feel like being OTT) but i guess secretly, ide jus be happy perhaps with spending some time with him huggled up at home (usually whilst he has one arm around me and one arm around the computer, on the forums :p :D i have so much to blame you people for!!)

I'll either be at a restaurant with 2 of our Italian suppliers from work or out for drinks for a friends birthday. It all depends if I get a reply to a text.

Not taking her anyway, I just spent a fortune on a weekend for her birthday, if she wasn't impressed by that then heaven help me.

I also dislike Valentines day.

Haven't had to do Valentines for a while tbh, too many short term relationships :p I've ammended my ways and have a really great gf this year tho, so she's getting roses sent to work and she's being taken to a good Italian. We went to a show on Saterday, and we'll be at a gig on Tuesday. She's off to Amsterdam with her friend on Fri, so I'll get a nice rest at the weekend

Dunno what lots of lads are complaining about - I like doing all that stuff :) Think of all the unlucky people who would love to be spending the evening with someone ;)

I've printed off the tesco value card. I've used my best photo paper for her too!

After receiving her card it will be back to mine for a good roasting (and I dont mean a meal).

She agree's though, I can prove I like her any day of the year by taking her out somewhere or buying her flowers, valentines is nothing special.
