Vega 56 worth it at around £200?

My worry now is if its still got 10+ stock and its back up to 289 quid then it might have another price cut on sunday or soon after for a real clear out price of even less than what we payed for it the other day. If that happens i will truely kick myself for the impulse (no pun intended) for the buy at 249. If it goes to £229 or something i think sod it and return it and rebuy it lol.

I think in that case we should post in the CS section - I think they've been known to refund the difference in prior cases? From what I remember anyhow. Given that our cards won't be delivered until Monday anyhow... should the price drop on Sunday it wouldn't hurt to ask.

Mine is currently running at 58c in my Lian-Li (although it's open atm due to fiddling). I usually run it at 50% fan (pretty silent) but have upped it to 55% because of the warmer weather :)

Ah, tho i was just seeing the one in ur sig and thought that was a really nice one too that u have. So you have the same AoC one as me, cool, well have to talk about how to get the best freesync out of it one day using that crc tool thing so freesync can be used with lower fps range as ive heard is possible on this one. Plus i need to find out if i should use overdrive on this, atm i dont think i touched it.

Btw i got mine from somewhere when it was on offer for about 160 quid down from 200, thought it was a bargain considering the rave reviews of it being the best bang for buck for the specs it has. So glad i got a larger monitor tho as i was getting sick of the 22in one i had which was vga.

Btw vega 56 ppl, how cool is the card usually and hows the fan noise as the 780ti wasnt too bad since its a blower FE cooler on a asus board (think original owner had a custom cooler on tho) anyhow erm when i gamed on the 780ti the fan did get loud and the temps did go in the 80s on some games. Im hoping the vega 56 with it having a custom 2 fan cooler on and newer architecture and whatnot can make it cooler to run and less noisy on the fans when gaming. Would that be a true statement? I think its a little less power hungry than the 780ti too isnt it?

I wonder if we get lucky and get the samsung memory on it, if so, is anyone gona try that bios flash thing ive heard of to a 64? Or is it not that important really. I think if it was considered really safe to do i might do it tho dunno if straight away. Tho i might try undervolting just to save on power and heat i dunno depends how easy it is as i dont really wana invest time into messing about, getting old and messing with settings for things these days i cba with lol. Used to say 5 years ago or so but dunno.

I flashed my 56 to a 64, it gave more hbm mhz, didn't do anything for the core, bumped timespy score up by around 4% though

I can't say I've ever experienced this phenomenon. Loud fans **** me off, which is a large part of why I'm ditching the 480. Going from Sapphire to Sapphire, but from what I'm told the Sapphire 480 cooler was unusually poor and not typical of their cards.

If you haven't experienced the Sapphire 480 4GB you really shouldn't throw stones at people moaning about them :p It's a poor card.

I'm hoping you don't experience it but unfortunately it's very common on Vega's. I still have my reference Rx470 platinum was htpc card, then used for mining I didn't think it was too bad basically it was on par with my Gx970.
Could you have not made a custom fan profile and undervolted your Rx480?
Either way you will def have to tweak your V56 to get the best out of it .

Hmm @FoxEye did you know about this.

Ive just stumbled upon it on ocuk website tho when buying the 56 it said nothing about this amd xbox gamepass for 3 months thing. I wonder if we get a code for it when its delivered. As it said if you buy a amd x or x which x is a 56 in our case between 1st of july 2019 and so so we can get a code for 3 months of that xbox pass thing. Might be nice to try i guess tho doubt id pay for it after the 3 months freebie.

Its just been a £1 for a month now. Page says from Aug 2019 but its been available for a while now as beta access but you get the 100+ games I downloaded FM 2019, Metro Exodus and Void B*****DS all for a £1.

The one Skeeter mentioned in his post above, Q3279VWFD8.

Pay attention boy! /Mr Bronson mode off.

Sorry was viewing on my phone and it doesnt show sigs.

Thats the one I've been tempted to get a few times wonder whether it would make a difference from my PG279Q 144mhz I just fancy a bigger screen but I have limited space. My two sons just got Acer 24" 75mhz gaming monitors and they seem pretty smooth.

It's a *little* rough going down to 75hz, but as long as you pretty much lock it to that with few dips then I've found it to be doable (a lot moreso than 60, which is just horrid now!).

You'll have to give it 24/48hrs though to get used to it.
