I hate ORD ( Chicago ) but no probs

all seems good, only thing I would say is that TI tries ( not with that much success ) to attract the 20 something party crowd

I am 44 and find it ok but if you dont like lively then it may not be for you

I dont mind lively (am 34 but sure I could cope), I know my wife wants to see a couple of shows whilst there, so will also check on pricing/availability of those!

Love is best, followed by Ka and Mystere, maybe O too but havent seen that

Cirque have a $50 offer on at moment, if you want it let me know and I will fish it out

good cheaper shows are rat pack and fab four but 1/2 price tickets are easily available

Guys if you're going to book Wynn you could probably save £20 by booking through Thomas Cook and using code TCSAVE20 (expires today). Price seems as good as anywhere (£76/night for the dates I looked at) so as long as you are staying 3 nights or more it should work.

we have cheaper but thanks for your help :)

oh unless that includes resort fee and tax in which case it is very similar :)

not done the AK, need to make choices for this time

had a go with Desert Eagle

Thomson .45 Machine gun ( spray and pray )

Pump action Shotgun

M249 SAW ( folks on here recommended this but I didn't get it, deadly accurate but no fun )

It's all about trying to cut the target in half with something like the M249 SAW :D

Maybe try an uzi? They must be fun.

Cirque looks good, I have to check that the grandparents don't mind looking after the children before booking anything, seems a bit rude to just book it first and then tell them :)

I would quite like to see Penn & Teller as used to watch them on the secret cabaret tv show years ago (I think that's what it was called), be interesting to see their proper show?

$50 sounds like a great price for Cirque though so if you wouldn't mind letting me know I can see what I can try to arrange, could be our delayed honeymoon (only by 10 years....)

How annoying is this Grand Canyon thing?

Seems the options are:

a) South Rim. Proper canyon. Drive right up to the edge, etc etc. But its 285 miles from Vegas and therefore means less time in Vegas and staying in Flagstaff. Plus an EPIC drive from San Diego to Flagstaff.

b) West Rim. Rotty will laugh at me but more importantly, the 'native americans' seem to completely and utterly take the mick on pricing. $30 alone just to park in the middle of nowhere, seems for two of us we will get no change out of $250 to basically just.. see the canyon. But it's loads closer, only 120 miles.

ARHGHGHGHGHG.

Was exactly our quandary Fox so we ended up not doing it. You can drive there and back in a day from Vegas though.

Think the cheapest South Rim trip we found from Vegas was circa $200 per person by plane...

I have done both and can quite categorically say that they dont even compare, if you go all that way and miss the south rim you will end up being hugely disappointed.

as for hotels, i've just got back from 4 nights at the venetian. it was INCREDIBLE. 4 nights for 4 people worked out at ~ £725, which isn't bad at all. the buildings that make it are insane, i got lost several times. the restaurants are amazing, but expensive (as expected). we stayed in San Francisco before driving to LV, and stayed a night at mammoth lakes (Yosemite, although out of the park as it's a rip off) and then a night on the edge of death valley (Pahrump winery). both are highly reccommended. to go to the south rim of the canyon is a 14 hour day excursion, and that takes in the hoover dam on the way back. a long day, but you have to do it.

Ok so whats the deal with flying to the Canyon?

Priced it up at $229 for a pickup from the hotel, flight to the South Rim, bus tour around the various viewpoints, flight back again to Vegas, drop off at hotel. Seems VERY cheap for what you get?

we're getting married in Vegas in 2 weeks and plan on not doing the grand canyon for exactly those reasons.

its a big hole in the ground. Meh.

Culture ? its a hole in the ground and a complete rip !

Plus she's scared of heights and would never go up in a helicopter. She's nervous enough flying so not a chance in hell she'd go up in a chopper. Her being a nervous flyer is one of the reasons we like the top deck on 747-400s. Feels more like a train carriage than a plane due it only having two rows of two seats up there.
