Vegas Hotels

you tell him that a resort suite in Wynn for $70 a night plus resort fee is an amazing deal :p

Yeah that's great but if you want room service coffee......$16 for a pot of coffee in the Encore. Beers are $7+. We had breakfast in Tableau in the Wynn, cost us about $100 for two. Amazing breakfast and great surroundings but a total rip off when you sober up and realise what you are doing. The thing that slapped me in the chops was the Arab guy next to me at breakfast on two blackberrys barking orders to his minions and throwing away more or less what I just ate as if it was pocket change.

Dinner in Cafe Society in the Encore, $90 (with no alcohol) but the best steak I have ever had. You get in life what you pay for...but in the Wynn/Encore, you pay a premium on everything.

Best thing I had for free was a personal shopper in Neiman Marcus in the Fashion Show Mall. It was free, he boxed me off with a load of Hugo Boss shirts, Levis Jeans and Paul Smith Shoes. Came to about $600 but over here you would have paid at least £1000. He keeps emailing me with offers etc to go back...say hi to Rusty if you are there soon :D

As for a posh hotel, do it if it is your first time in Vegas, but then realise you can spend your cash better elsewhere. I.E The Gun Store/ Outlet Malls etc etc. Rotty and I spoke at great length over hotel choice and for your first time, the razamatazz is worth it. After that, get a bed and save the dough!

Next April when I go back, all the money is going on fun with a clean, safe room in the Platinum.....

/edit. I think our room came to circa $600 for three nights in a panoramic suite. Like I say, pointless tho. We were never in it.....

How big a deal is this? It's still going to be wow, right?

certainly, just that feeling that you didn't go to the GC

plus the fact that when I twll the forum that Fox made a boo boo you will never live it down ;)

j/k west rim is awesome if that is what you want

do you a deal, you do the sky jump at the strat and I will pay ( we can make it a charity thing ) :p

thats the issue, I adore the Platinum

glad you had a look at it, you save a fortune by having the kitchen , not for cooking but for the huge fridge

oh and you get the jacuzzi

oh **** I can't decide :o

we had the staybridge suites for two nights. That was great as we had our car and were really close to Walmart. Ranked #1 on tripadvisor, can see why as it was great but you deffo need a car there.

We never cooked but I got a crate of bud in cans, got settled by the pool....got a tan and tipsy before a night out in Freemont. Saved a fortune!

a night down Fremont is a must

anyone interested I will give you a pub crawl you will never forget ;)

dive bars, hells angel bars etc, great night out tbh ( if you survive ) :p

need to find some new gun sugestions for this year

oh and YSMN I was told by the folks at gun shop that you can bring your own pic to use as targets

so many choices ;)

I think ratboy and demento have to be priority :p

oh and Gillette, Hicks. Purslow , ****ona, ....................

Issue with that is that my planned itinery has us leaving Vegas and heading to Yosemite via Death Valley. I figured its too much do to Vegas to the outskirts of Yosemite in a single day, so was going to stay about 3-4 hours away and spend the afternoon/next morning in Yosemite?s

Yosemite is MILES away from Vegas. I didn't do your loop but I would definitely want at least 2 days in Yosemite Park. It's a once in a lifetime place. My other half grew up surrounded my mountains and beautiful terrain and was a bit non plussed about going. I grew up in Liverpool, lusting after big hills and sick of the coast....We argued about going as it meant we couldn't visit lake Tahoe. I won...

Once we got to the top of Glacier Point at sunset, her face was a picture I wont forget and she says it was a highlight of the trip...

I was in the boozer tonight showing my mates my gunstore videos when the police popped in to check the license conditions were ok. They were quite impressed with the AK47 accuracy :D

not done the AK, need to make choices for this time

had a go with Desert Eagle

Thomson .45 Machine gun ( spray and pray )

Pump action Shotgun

M249 SAW ( folks on here recommended this but I didn't get it, deadly accurate but no fun )

AK47, Glock and UZI for me first time. Then I went back and did MP5, 12 gauge and semi auto rifle (armalite I think)?

The heavy calibre stuff was fun but pointless...Can't wait to go back to Vegas tho, great place and like you said- do first time in a glitzy hotel, after that just get a clean safe gaff...

Did a Glock in Prague, was good

so would you choose PT over Wynn ?

we have a couple of Vegas "semi virgins" with us

he is big poker player and all she has seen of Vegas in a week in Rio for WSOP and a week in Nugget so we want to show her real Vegas

I would yeah but Im a bit of a night owl. I barely slept in the bed, so it was a big fat waste of cash. The missus loved it but also acknowledged that it was a waste of money and as a guest we only got to use the pool over non guests. Wynn/Encore is a great, if not awesome complex...just get a cheap room and visit...

Mates missus is pool monster but PT pool is great in that it is v quiet

I am v hard to keep up with in Vegas , my brother always gives me 3 days start when he comes out nut it doesnt help

my normal day would be out at 10.30 am, back at 6.30pm, back out within 45 mins getting home between 4 and 6 am , rinse and repeat :p

if direct that is great deal , if not still OK but not amazing

It isn't direct, has a connect in Chicago but I would get 2000 nectar points.... (woohoo) and the flight times seem ok to make the most of the mon-fri schedule:

10:15 Depart London (LHR)
Arrive Las Vegas (LAS) 16:10 Mon 25-Oct
Duration: 13hr 55mn American Airlines 87 / 1417
Connect in Chicago (ORD)

23:55 Depart Las Vegas (LAS)
Arrive London (LHR) 22:45 +1 day Fri 29-Oct
Duration: 14hr 50mn American Airlines 2538 / 90
Connect in Chicago (ORD)

There are other cheaper hotels on the results, but the TI seemed to be recommended on here out of the cheaper ones, also my wife has never been so taking the advice on here a hotel on the strip seems a good first choice? (I went once 20 odd years ago with my parents, but that doesnt really count).

even at the same price ?

I can get comped rooms for us 2 ( lower end places ) but we have others to think about

I hate ORD ( Chicago ) but no probs

all seems good, only thing I would say is that TI tries ( not with that much success ) to attract the 20 something party crowd

I am 44 and find it ok but if you dont like lively then it may not be for you
