Vettel vs Alonso - Who Deserves it more?

Alonso deserves it more but his car is slower so tough.
Also he is such a crybaby that I have taken quite a dislike to the man, even though he has some world class driving talent.

Vettel has the combination of world class driving ability and a fantastic car. I will be amazed if he doesn't win the championship.

Asked him if his poor qually performance was because he'd got his contract sorted for next year already and didn't need to try. You could see the anger in his eyes but he kept it together for the TV cameras. After he left them, Jake then noted when Eddie said that Daniel was angry about his performance that he might well be more angry at EJ for saying that he wasn't trying hard enough.

Wow, what an idiot.

Vettel deserves it more to be honest.

I used to dislike Alonso like mad being a Lewis fan, but he is probably the best driver on the grid to be honest, so complete.

Vettel on the other hand I have never liked, however I don't know why, I don't rate him that much at all.

Alonso is the best driver on the grid, in your eyes, and you don't rate Vettel much at all, in your words.

So why do you say Vettel deserves it more?

I don't get it

Probably should have clarified, Vettel over the year has been very consistent and while I don't rate him as a overall driver he is very good from he front. From the back he is a little kid..but this year he has been driving mainly from the front and has generally done a sterling job

I was not an Alonso fan before this season, not one bit. But after this season he has really impressed me not only as how good he is as a driver but also how he has come across in all his interviews. I think he deserves to win, not by a lot but more so than Vettel.

Not to take anything away from Vettel, he has been pretty faultless but some would argue he has had the most complete car all year and I think we can all say that he has had a much better car than Alonso. So for it to be this close at this stage of the season I think that is pretty good from Alonso's part.

I'm interested in knowing what Hamilton and Alonso were saying to each other while Vettel was being interviewed at the podium. Both seemed to be getting along which is rarely seen on TV!!

Probably wondering why he says "yeah" (complete with a stupid grin) in the middle of every sentence to break it up.

How many points do drivers get for being good in interviews or complaining on the radio? I assume being good with the team is worth quite a few too?

I'd absolutely love for Vettel's alternator to go pop during the latter stages of the race and for Alonso to take it. In the first half of the season when they didn't have the car, Vettel wasn't going to be winning any titles. I'd love for the car to lose it for him as well :D

Mind games, JV and Schumacher got on while JV was battling Damon in 96 for the title, prompting Damon to get a bit bent out of shape in a press conference while MS and JV laughed at him.

If the battle next year is Alonso v Hamilton they will be back at each other. A convenient alliance :D

I'd love to see how Vettel would perform in a less than perfect car.

At the start of the season, he had a less than perfect car. McLaren, on average had the best car. During this time, Vettel had the beating of the rest of the field, though, except for Alonso.

Vettel is a class act. The "experts" on the telly all agree on this.
For whatever reason, people on this forum choose to ignore his achievements.

I wonder how many titles, race wins, points, etc he will have to win for people on this forum to acknowledge that he is on his way to becoming an all-time-great.

The BBC rate Vettel as the 8th greatest driver of all time (which I do not agree with).

Alonso by a mile. Much like Schumi did during some of his Ferrari years, he has the ability to take a sub-standard car and drive around the problems to produce unexpectedly good results.

Vettel, OTOH, has a childish strop whenever the car or anything else isn't just the way he wants it.

Vettel

God i hope Vettel wins, i can't stand Alonso.
Can't stand Lorenzo either, must be a Spanish thing?

Who DESERVES it? No idea. They both do i suppose.

It didn't help that despite Hamilton qualifying on pole, Mclaren kept inventing reasons to screw the race up. 2 bodged pit stops from threaded wheel nuts, 1 where he ran over his own tyre and generally poor strategy calls let slip a wedge of points.

Not just Hamilton but button too.. The wheel that wasn't put on etc.

That's the only reason this isn't a 3 way title fight. They've been poor for reliability.

There is no denying that Vettel is class but I think it comes down to personal opinion on the forum (and with anyone really). To me the BBC ratings are heavily based on Championship wins and whether they are dead through motorsport (legendary). I don't think there is anything wrong with doing that but for me this season I wouldn't put Vettel as a greater driver than Alonso or Hamilton.
