Vince's Ebay Repair Thread - (Console Repairs & Mods)

Hi @Vince, I have a modded GBA (IPS V2 + Click buttons) but I have a few issues with it now.

1. The power led flickers red until you apply pressure to the power switch area and then will flicker green. Hard to know when it's going to die.
2. The start button requires excessive amount of pressure to work.

Any ideas what to look at? I'm going to take it apart and see if i can find anything obvious.

Edit: Fixed it :D lol!

Just gave the problematic area a clean with alcohol wipes and a hard blow with some canned air. Put back together with a better protective film behind the display as the foam looked a bit small, thought best be safe than have a short.

All good!

The V2 is pretty nice - The v4 laminated is next level cant recommend it enough!

I have an issue with a PS4 controller, it wont go 'up' on the toggle stick.
Is it worth trying to fix or should I just replace?

Thanks

Fix it! Throw a new pot in it and you will feel like a total boss :) I do have a couple of the white ps4 pads here and a ps4 that I fixed, its been just sitting on the side collecting dust. I dont even have a ps4 game

New snk game appears!! Repro case but aye you can't win them all. I guess we are fitting our screen in it this weekend.

@Tinders - you might recognise the tablet, it's up today. And I spotted ifixit sell a full screen plus digitizer combo for £60

Top stuff. Have you come across any battery prices at all?
I have not but possibly ifixit do a battery as well?... screen is out, I doubt the screen survived but can categorically tell you the digitizer really didn't  Looking at it 100% get the screen and digitizer, the lcd is bonded and well its not coming off.

Pixel 6, new screen, battery and complete reshell. It's the wife's now spare pixel 6 :)

Old shell to the left.. I'll do some pics when finished.

Nice work!

I actually did two, my one I destroyed within days of having it and the wife's phone that's she has destroyed over time. Thought it would be fun to just bring them back to life.

Here they are looking good. Will take a few days of use for all the excess glue to come away but they look good.

The oled screens were £100 each, and the rear and frame for the wife's old one I found for £25. Already had all the glues and clamps so why not give it a go :)

Using B-7000 for anybody interested it's basically a clear glue people use for phone repair.
