Iv been having a lot of resolution problems tonight, ie clicking google links can get resolved.

Tried to use googles dns to see if that would solve it but nothing.

I'm getting full speed (50mb) but net browsing is slow.
And yes i cannot connect to btjunkies either.

I've been able to access more of the web by using Google DNS but still can't get on Virgin's technical support forum.

Does anyone else get less than the advertised 50mb speed between peak hours? i.e 6 - 11pm? Im getting anywere between 2mb - 4mb/sec which is pritty crap.

Seems to me virgins network is just crap

Seem to be getting a lot of slow down at peak times at the moment.... Wtf....

Paying for 30Mb and getting 0.5 down 1.2 up. Has been fine up to now but recently it has gone down the drain.

FS Virgin :/

Feels terribly slow today, never had this problem before.

I always get 31/3 Mb/s.

I can't believe the poor connection speeds I'm getting at the moment. I'm paying for 50Mb but I'm lucky to get over 2Mb at night recently. In the mornings it seems back to normal again but during the day there are frequent drop outs. Its almost totally useless.

what part of the UK are you m8?

im connected to the aztec west ubr which apparently is one of the oldest in the VM network, they shouldn't be advertising speeds that can't be sustained.

im classed as croydon hub and the 50mb here has been fine since i came home from work, ive think theres still issues on the network in general but ive been an eye on :

I'm in Norwich. Last might I was almost tempted to tether my laptop to my phone the connection was that bad. Downstream speeds were anything from 2.3Mb down to 0.65Mb.

usenet downloading at 40-100KB this morning, and i'm on 50MB.... when i do speedtest it is 45MB :S

What port do you guys use?

I've got a VM engineer coming out on Thursday to hopefully fix it, they checked the line and noticed a fault.

Got cut off yesterday for over 6 hrs phoned up the UK support number as i have 50 meg and spoke to a bloke in bombay could hardly understand a word he said,was on the phone for a while doing all the standered stuff take cable out insert cable and so on only to be told there was a fault in my area,why go through all that and not tell me before hand.
