Tried a different server?

London (80 odd miles away) is always fast for me:

Well my 50mb has cut off tonight and I can't sleep, I was just getting use to this speedy connection, I now have no connection, nothing of an outage on vm site too. I'm in the teeside area.

Hoping it will pop back on in the morning magically, really can't be arsed ringing up and hoping this won't be a regular thing from now on :(, I'd much rather have 2mb connection rather than type on this old phone.

Meh. Atleast halfway through The Hobbit book to keep me entertained :)

Teeside is not far from where I am squarepusher and we've had the same similar outage on our line for the past 2 or 3 nights. I rang VM yesterday and they said they were having a extremely high amount of interference on their lines, as thousands of people in our area had called about the same issue. They told me that engineers were on the job asap.

Edit:

Speed is a lot lower than usual, I've been known to get upwards of 55-60mb on our 50mb line.

My net has been off tonight aswell..

This is after the sub 1mb speeds I've been getting for the past 3 months and 2 complaints with no reply. I'll be ringing them tomorrow and giving them a good rollocking and my 30 days notice (I'm moving anyway)

It's laughable they increase the speeds when there are complaints of poor service all over the place.

I hope you lads get some decent service from VM soon.

My cable was replaced, I'm out of the UK but can still monitor the connection:

Updated my topic on their forums. Hopefully it'll get sorted out.

My areas Upload has been cut by 33% already after the 1st wave of upgrades not 6 months ago.

the jitter is unbelievable, i play modern warfare 3 and when i host people complain about it non stop. Its embarrassing (:))

I upgraded my 50MB connection this weekend which has been rock solid to the 100MB service which has been problematic. Firstly i got the 10MB upload but my Download has been stuck on 50MB but last night was averaging around 30mb :(

Is that wired or wireless?

And if wired is that on a Gigabit network port on your comp?

Im using Home plugs :)
Called Virgin yesterday and they remote connected to my pc but couldnt fix it either. Got an engineer booked this Saturday but i doubt he will be able to fix this. Not sure if Virgin had a problem yesterday but my download speed was around 30MB and ingame ping was averaging around 120 which is very high (Usually 30).

So I ring VM up to cancel and she's a nice English lady but hasn't got a ****ing clue about her products. I mention that I've been having crap speeds on an evening due to over congestion and I say it was perfect on 50MB. I then make the mistake of asking her a fairly straight forward question about the traffic management on 50MB over the unlimited 100MB service and she hasn't got any idea about it. I give her the benefit of the doubt to let her do some research (I could just find out in 2 seconds searching Google) but dem bitches need to learn about their own products!

Anyway, apparently she's calling back with hopefully a better deal and putting me back on 50MB.

The 100Mb at present has no caps. The 50mb caps the uploads between 3pm and 8pm to ~6Gb.
When the 50Mb goes to 100Mb what will happen to this? Does anyone know?
