Virgin Media Discussion Thread

The price hike is making me tempted to cancel but unfortunately their broadband is too good to live without :(

I spoke to retentions and got the £3.99 rise cancelled for 12 months (well, the equivalent amount of credit applied to my account at least).

I was fully prepared to play the game of actually cancelling then waiting for a call-back offer which no doubt would have been cheaper. Maybe next time time.

My speed boost has went from November to December, and now to between January and March! I'll be moved house by then!

Was there an additional cost or contract extension for doing it early?

no additional cost and not sure about the contract extension. Have just read the emails I received and (order receipt ect) neither say anything about extending my contract.

Also just received an email to say my V+ box upstairs is getting replaced with a Tivo box foc due to VM no longer supporting the V+ boxes.

According to my account i am now eligible for the upgrade however i required a new modem (Had Super Hub 1 in modem mode). Just activated the modem etc. however my speeds are still at 100 and not 150.

Woman on the phone said it could take up to an hour for the full speed to hit. Can anyone confirm?

Just had a call from Virgin Media. Last week gave my 30 days notice.

Was paying £29.50 for Evening & weekend talk and 50mb broadband

Now £24 for the same package with my broadband getting a little jump to 70MB

Im content with that. :)

I currently pay £19.50 for that and after the increase it will be £23.

They can hop it.

My "Superhub" keeps factory resetting itself, CS says it's because the "Superhub" only supports a maximum of 4 wired connections (I've got 11 devices through a switch).

I assume this is BS, can anybody point me at the specs so I can beat them over the head with them :)

12 connected to mine via switch and no issues.... Sounds like your hub is faulty have you tried hard re-setting it ?

If only...

I've had FOUR superdooper hubs this year and they refuse to acknowledge there is any problem with the Hubs or the line.

They even sent me out "refurb" units which still had the last users devices listed in the DHCP table.

The CS rep even suggested "If you need more than 4 connected wired devices.... try another supplier":eek:

Strange one that. I have the AC hub now and had the 2 before and have not had any issues with multiple connected devices... ?????

I've had a Google and it seems to have started with the latest Superhub 1 software update but as usual they won't admit it or even give me a V2 box.

Don't bother calling tech support, choose the option for Retensions.

Had an issue with the SH1 which was replaced 7/8 times in the space of 10 months, tech support would only replace the unit with a SH1 so called retensions who replaced the SH1 with the AC SH and even admitted she had similar problems.

SH has worked flawless in modem mode since replaced.
