Have you tried downloading a large file and seeing what the real transfer rate is? I download a lot of files from a seedbox and regularly hit 200mbit most of the time. I dont go for what speedtest websites tell me.

check your power levels..

do a speedtest in the morning to see if you get full speed, also try a different server on speedtest.net.

Can anyone give me some advice, this was the first time i used virgin (not good but only high speed BB in my area)

I cant get any good deal so I've handed in my cancellation request but ive not been told what I need to do next, do i need to send back my equipment ?

if i go with any of the upgrade offers would i be subjected to next november's price increase ?

If i cancel now and choose to get virgin BB 2-3 months down the line would i be getting a new customer ?

i'm guessing they should send a return box, beware sometimes they could charge u if don't return them. even if they haven't sent u anything to return them... that happened to a friend.

Cheers, How do I check power levels and whats ok? Where is the routers password as the guy only pointed out the wireless key before he went.

do u have a sh2 or hub 3?

for the sh2 you click on router status > operational Configuration

for the hub3 you click on check router status > downstream and also check the upstream.

you don't need the password to check

i think the default password is blank or admin.. but as i said you don't need the password to check the power levels

IIRC, the password is on a little card in the bottom of the case of the SH3 - it just pulls out. Note the admin login is different from the wi-fii password.

if your getting that in the morning then it looks like you have high utilization issue in the afternoon/evening..

speed test again at about 1 or 2pm then again at about 5-6pm and 9pm

hope your prepared to wait a very long time for VM to fix the high utilization issue as it could take 1-2years+

did you try other servers on speedtest.net? make sure you use a virgin media server

for example if i click begin test, which it used leicester rapiedswitch server i get this

if i choose leicester virgin media, i get this

looks like my upload speed as dropped tonight. will need to keep my eye on that.

Speedtest doesn't give a proper reading. Downloading large multiple files does. I max my connection 99% of the time downloading multiple files from my seedboxes.
