Virgin Media Discussion Thread

YAY superhub is here and installed in no time at all. Very happy so far!

Well after a few hours use the only thing so far is that the blue activiyt light is WAY too bright!

That works as well lol! Pretty much everything with "loud" LEDs in my room is covered in a mixture of blu-tac and black electric tape! How they think such bright LEDs are a good idea I'll never know!

Got my 50mb installed today.

Has anyone without a Virgin router, ie just the modem managed to get a superhub free of charge? I'd ideally like to be ready for the 30MB upgrade and 100MB in the future but have a feeling they will tell me to "get on my bike"! ;)

Been spanking the connection since it was installed yesterday and the speed has been a solid 50 all the time. Regardless of peak hours etc. Must say I'm mightly impressed. Although I probably should be for the cost! :p

Would whole heartedly recommend 50meg

Getting mine installed on the 8th, i really cannot wait!!!!

Is anyone using the Virgin 50meg in Reading (particularly Reading West)? Can they comment on reliability/speed?

cheers

Anyone have issues with gametrailers.com constantly stopping to buffer? I never used to have this problem on 10Meg. It doesn't matter if its HD or SD it will still stop to buffer with the same frequency, probably one a minute for 10 seconds or so.

Hi mate,

I'm up in Tilehurst, so yes I can comment! As per my post above, it's spot on for me.

Looks like pretty steep Virgin price increases coming in April.

VIP50 users are facing a 12% increase, up from £97.50 a month to £109.50.

Edit: Staff are now saying the website price is wrong and that VIP50 will be £100.55, so the increase will only be £3.15.
