Installed fine on:

40GB IDE HDD (didn't want to bugger up my 250GB main disk :p)
A64 4000+
DFI LPUT SLI-DR Expert
GeIL Value 2GB
7800GTX
X-Fi Fatal1ty
Viewsonic VX2025 (had res problems with Beta 1 - automatically set to 1680x1050 this time - jolly good!)

Roughly how long did the install take? Mine seems to be fine just REALLY slow..

Very nice - opinions? :)

It uses loads of memory about 750MB without anything open, seems slower in response than xp, and of course its pretty bad for gaming because of all the memory it uses. Looks nice though. The new system doesnt really seem that different from the old one.

Yeh, you really need at least 2gb to use Vista :( . How can they say min 512 !!!

How much ram are you using?

I have 2gb in my shuttle and it seems to use about 800mb, i would say onces its all running its seems as snapy as XP IMO. Booting is longer though as expected IMO.

I would have thought the final version would use less memory.

Got 1 hour for my download to finish.

My server is currently pulling about 10mbit with you chaps on it. :P.

Took about an hour to get to desktop from sticking the DVD in the drive.

Loving it so far - so much so that I'm planning on using it over the weekend. Need to get some of my Music and stuff back on though. Think I'll be using my PSP as a data ferry - Luckily I have my main program installers backed up on my server :p

Oh, and it's a damn-site quicker than Beta 1!

Anything else?

followed all the instructions i can find of how to get a cdkey, still cant figure it out :( someone care to write me a detailed guide? :)

really hope the 64bit support is good this time, beta1 was terrible there were no drivers for half my stuff :/

There is a link on 1st/2nd page where you can sign up - then it emails you and also displays one on the page when you register

Nice, just tried to install it on my main PC, gets to 22% copying the files then stops with the error 80070241, then tried it on my old machine and it wont even get to the screen after selecting your Language. I know its a beta but I kinda expected it would at least install, using very common h/w aswell

Will try downloading and using the x64 version, but if even the x86 won't install I don't have much faith that x64 will :(

If you manage to solve this I'd love to know how. I've had Beta2 for a week now through the MSDN account at work and I've tried everything I can to get either the 32 or 64 version to install on this machine.

I either get the message you have there or when it Copies the files and reboots I then get "DISK BOOT FAILURE - INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"...it shouldn't be the drive as it's a IDE (so not drivers) and it holds a XP build fine and has no corruption via scandisk.

I've tried three different DVD's, burnt at the slowest speed. I've even tried mounting the ISO with Daemon Tools but still have problems. I'm now re-downloading the ISO's just incase I've got a corrupt one (although I doubt it as the 32bit one I have installs fine on my Dell SX280 at work).

Just to see if there is a pattern, I'm using a ASUS A8NSLI Premium with a AMD64 San Diego 3700+

I had that code..

I reburnt the iso to a different media type and it worked fine.

Anyone finding it doesn't spot the game port on an A8N-SLI Premium, and you get left with an Unknown Device?

Tried installing the (XP) drivers and they didn't work, but I'm quite possibly doing something daft. The rest of the sound was spotted automatically.

when i tried installing my X-Mystique drivers from the XP counterpart it crashed after about 5% saying invalid platform() - but the sound worked... couldnt change it to 5.1 though :(
