***VISTA SP1 RELEASED TO GENERAL PUBLIC***

Mines updated, Home Premium x64, but my dads PC (same OS as me) isn't getting it :(

Seems a bit hit and miss

Same here, my PC updated using Vista Prem 64 but my laptop and media center did not their running 32bit premium.

Don't know if i want to update or not considering the description says it's a beta. Just want to make sure it's the final release.

EDIT: Just refreshed the available updates page and it seems to have removed SP1 from the update list. Anyone else getting this? On Vista Ultimate x64.

Well I can't see Microsoft sending out betas on windows update..imagine all the problems that could incur.

I've installed it today ; was on my windows update.

I agree - rtm means its good to go - if there's probs surely you can uninstall it...

Is your Terratec TV card working? Mines stopped working after installing SP1

my Terratec Cinergy 2400i DT is working..

it is the rtm version "6.0.6001.18000" which means final version... microsoft hasn't updated the description...

My enhanced hard drive performance box got unticked after installing SP. It’s worth double checking yours.

I have only had Vista for a couple of days and have never heard of this function. Reading up on the internet it says that this process bypasses the cache of the hard drive? Is there any risk setting this option to enabled and does it make much difference to performance?

your hdd must have it's own power so if your computer shuddery goes off your hdd will be still on and won't lose data

My Vistax64 Home Premium at home installed SP1 last night. My work Vista 64 business has not received the update.

I wonder whether the business editions are NOT getting the update on account of them being joined to a domain. Maybe it sees a domain profile in use and says "ok....not for you yet"?

Played CoD4 straight after SP1 installation though and it seems fine. Yet to notice any difference to be honest.

Has anyone else had the issue with Vista sticking on the boot screen, the progress bar shows activity but Vista will not load.

The same things happens in Safe Mode.

This happens to me sometimes at the point when the USB devices initialise. Just leave it on the load screen and go make a cup of tea. It normally sorts itself out by the time you get back!
