VM 20 > 30 meg upgrade

Got my superhub all connected but had to revert to using my old router due to the wireless range on the superhub being ****. Can't believe had crap it is. I can't get any wireless signal in my upstairs bedroom (1st floor). whilst with my Edimax i could even get signal on the 2nd floor!

Eh? Does that mean no ****? Urban Dictionary is blocked at work.

While I have your attention, what's the reason for the VW logo in your sig?

Back on topic...I had a text earlier today confirming delivery attempt between 5.15 at 8 will be made tonight (having originally received notification that delivery will be made between 11 and 1!). What delivery company have people's parcels been delivered by? Cause the reference number doesn't look like a tracking number to me.

I need to find out where it is as I'm having it sent to my work address (so the muppets deliver it after 5pm, brilliant).

Thinking about upgrading but curious if anyone has had any issues with the Superhub either on its own or when bodging it with another router? Have read a few posts on another forum where have said the wireless on the superhub is pretty flaky :(

I just wish the damn thing could sit flat instead of upright!

Will have to get used to the sight of it I guess unless I tuck it behind the cabinet it sits on... Hmm.

Virgin media refuse to re-activation old modem VMNG300 cos I told them that superhub wireless is crappy. They say we all had to use superhub to support 30Meg. But I told them that loads of rubbish talk, because VMNG300 black modem (flat one) does support up to 100Meg. I cannot use my old modem as they refuse to re-activation it.

It's hardly 'bodging' it with another router lol, but the Superhubs wireless is carp.

My eldest daughter had Virgin 10meg b/b,tv package and phone installed last week, came with a smaller version of the "superhub",just called hub, ahem.
Anyway i went to hers to set-up the ps3,wirelessly,(her pc was fine, sorted by the engineers),what a mistake, only a foot between hub and ps3,but would it connect, not on your nelly.
Flaffed around for a while,well an hour and a half,have set up 5/6 ps3,s in the past,went home,got a spare ethernet cable,returned plugged it in,hey presto,a working online ps3.
I really could not believe how poor the wireless was on the hub, abysmal is the only word i can think of,i did tell her to ditch her tv and get faster b/b/and phone package with the superhub, under her 7 day cooling off period, not sure what she,s going to do though.

Got mine upgraded today. All seems ok at the moment, got fairly decent download speeds, although I am disappointed with the 1Mb/s upload. The other thing was the router being delivered in just a virgin box, which literally looked like it had just been opened.

I can see why they've done it though, you can feel the heat coming out the top on mine! I think it will die quite quickly if put flat.

I am disappointed with the 1Mb/s upload.
It will be upgraded to 3mbit though when your area is done :)

No reason why it should die via overheating! My WNDR3700 has been flat and no issues. It doesn't take much to cut vents at the factory like most flat routers or ones that support both orientations.

About QOS: I have just speed tested while running torrents and I was getting the same ping and almost the same speed down and 60% of my 1Mb/s upload. So QOS is not so essential with channel bonding. 3 ten meg channels all serving your superhub.

I have put mine under the floor boards, in my room, literally below where the old one was. The lights were irritating me. Its on its side and its in close proximity to the central heating pipe work. If it doesnt over heat I'll be surprised.
