Hi Hiijinx
Sorry, but I don't know anything about running Nord through a router if that's what you mean, I just downloaded the Nord software and
done the above in my previous post.

Try running something like ccleaner and these servers first and then try Netflix again.
American servers: # 707-710, 722-733, 868-875, 884-887,940-947, 952-963, 980-987, 1074-1153 1154-1193, 1196-1283.
English servers: # 15-20, 30-34, 36-41, 47-51, 53-101, 196-207, 228-239

Long shot (kick de bucket) it's your browsers geo location and ipv6 enabled.
https://ipleak.net give it a minute or so to finish and click on > Activate (may prompt an user permission on the browser) under > Geolocation detection
it should say " User denied the request for Geolocation."

Top of that test page " Your IP addresses " should say " No forwarded IP detected. If you are using a proxy, it's a transparent proxy.
IPv6 test not reachable."

All Ip numbers on ipleak page should be Nords.
If not , Firefox > about:config > media.peerconnection.enabled < disable
Opera > Settings > Show advanced settings > Privacy & security > WebRTC > Disable non-proxied UDP < tick

Other/more options
u block > settings > privacy > Prevent WebRTC from leaking local IP addresses < tick
WebRTC Network Limiter
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/webrtc-network-limiter/npeicpdbkakmehahjeeohfdhnlpdklia
WebRTC Leak Prevent
https://addons.opera.com/en-gb/extensions/details/webrtc-leak-prevent/

Disable Ipv6

Run ccleaner and try ipleak test again and then Netflix.
Change computer clock time zone to to the country / server used if Netflix still doesn't work.

If Netflix do a free trial I can test Firefox and Opera with Nord for you if none of the above/my previous post works.

Damn Jojay, thanks for really trying to help ^^ :D

I was using the openVPN function of my router because I watch neflix on the TV so is the only way for me, will test it on the PC with their software however just to see if that works.

Thanks again

edit: just tried it on my chromebook with the chrome extension and it works np so must be something to do with my router / or the server selected, since I don't know which one it auto selects on here.

That's ok
Have a look in your router for IPv6 in > setup or settings and disable it, don't forget to click > save or apply.
Router may need a restart after.
Try Netflix.

Something else to try if needed.

How can I fix a DNS leak ?

The solution is to ensure that once connected to the VPN, you are using ONLY the DNS server/s provided by the VPN service.

OpenVPN v2.3.9+

As of OpenVPN version 2.3.9 you can now prevent DNS leaks by specifying a new OpenVPN option.
Simply open the .conf (or .ovpn) file for the server that you are connecting to and add the following on a new line.

block-outside-dns

If for any reason you are unable to use the solution above continue reading.

DNS leak test page, select > extended
Only Nord Ip/s should be in the results.

Try Netflix.

Setting here I forgot about in ccleaner, not sure if it's on by default.
Open ccleaner > cleaner (top left) > windows > system > DNS Cache < tick

Quick question guys, for all those on NordVPN, is it normal for the TAP Ethernet adapter to report a connection speed of 100 Mbps?

I am really struggling to find any P2P servers that can get anywhere near my top download speeds of 45 Mb/s - as in I cannot get above 1 Mb/s. Without the VPN on I can hit 50 Mb/s easy.

The issue does appear to be Windows specific - on OSX using NordVPN I am hitting around 5.5 Mb/s!

Just finished a 2 year term with Pure where I found OpenVpn speeds on Asus AC68u router maxxing out a 2.1Mb/s on a 100Mb/s VM cable line. Had considered going to Nord but read some poor reviews so now considering VPN.ac or VPN-Area which are a bit more (double) expensive but seem to have better reviews. I am mainly using for downloading rather than streaming. Does anyone have any comments on these services. I like their no-log principles as opposed to PURE who appear to cough up as soon as the fed ask.

im experiencing a similar thing, did you work anything out to improve it?

Yes indeed I did. I switched to ExpressVPN and now getting about 15 Mb/s on P2P. It was after my 30 day refund period with Nord and they initially declined my request for a refund, but when I politely reminded them that I would just ask PayPal/Credit card company for a refund they refunded me my total amount!

My subs just ran out for PureVPN.

Has anyone tried IPVanish? It's supposedly is the fastest and has a zero log policy. There is 73% off the 2 year deal as well until tomorrow night so its £60 for 2 years.

If not any recommendation on who to go with next?

I'm looking for decent P2P speeds and access to sites that my ISP blocks, that's about it.

I use Digibit which most people on here probably haven't heard of. Signed up during their black friday deal and instead of paying the normal £2.50pm, I pay £1.75. If you use KODIUKTV or STREAMVPN at checkout, you can get it for £2pm if you want to give it a try. Zero logging etc.

There's a slight decrease in download speeds but I still come close to maxing out when on P2P. Unlike PIA, it seems to have no problem with geo-locked websites either. I've been really impressed with it so far and they have loads of servers around the world.

So it seems Digibit VPN can't bypass iPlayer's geographical lock even when using a UK server after all (and confirmed I have a UK IP address). Doesn't matter when I'm actually in the UK, but would be good to have a working bypass for when I'm abroad. Still for £1.75 I can't complain too much.

If you've a decent internet connection at home then setting up an OpenVPN server at home is a great way of bypass iPlayer and other UK service's geo-locking. Just connect back home from abroad.

So it turns out Digibit can bypass geo-locked websites. For some reason the UK Digibit server I was connected to was actually routing to the USA for some reason. Tried a few of the others (there are loads of UK ones) and if I trace my IP, it puts me in the UK so iPlayer etc works.

Looking at trying out a VPN but there seem to be so many options.
Any thoughts on the fastest and most reliable ones?
Just general use for geo location sites etc.
Would prefer something known to be safe without logging, although I think most are OK?

I’ve been using NordVPN for nearly a year and it’s proved to be great. It has apps for mobile devices and is easy to set up on a PC or router if you need that facility.
