lol Lotus envy? The VX is a better car than the Elise.

You are joking right? I was all set to buy a VXT, I researched them, test drove them and was all set to buy one then I drove the Elise and only then did I realise how much better the Elise was. On one hand the performance of a stage 2 VXT was appealing but when it came down to it I chose the 111R as it was the better handling, and therefore fun car, surely the whole reason anyone buys a car such as this?
The VXT just doesn't handle like an Elise, wrong size wheels and heavy engine just ruin what Lotus spent so long perfecting

Thats the biggest load of tripe i think ive ever heard come out of your mouth :p

The owners club is like ANY OTHER ! They all have there toss pots regardless of what car the club is based on

I didn't say that comment lightly, I'm totally serious.
I've been on plenty of owners club forums from Boxsters, TTs, Elises, Clios, MR2s, BMWs, CTRs, Scoobys and loads of others and yet I've never come across a bunch of ******* like on the VX forum.
God help anyone who asks a question about anything such as changing the stereo, adding carpet or anything which goes against the lightweight VX and you'll be met with a torrent of abuse. (which is ironic considering just how much the VXT weighs anyway!)

I quite enjoy being part of a community and enjoy learning more about my choice of car via forums but the VX community just isn't very welcoming. Shame really cos they're pretty good cars (although not quite as good as the 111R..... - opens can of worm!)

As I said to you at the time Simon, it really isn't important to me what you think as its based on your perception. No win debate mate, I suggest you park it.

You seemed to recommend the VX220T over the S2000, in your previous post, based on what (i can only assume) on reading about the two cars, you expect the VX to be better on a track as its 'lighter and sharper'. I know you have driven neither, my comment was regarding your underestimation of the S2000 on a track.

The fact you didn't see me overtake you around Donnington was irrelevant.

So because he was prepared to presumably take less risks, your car is better than his?

Isn't this the sort of thing thats best suited to the Saxo clubs?

You weren't there, the people who were will understand the irony of all of this. I still remember it everytime I read a post from housey

I drove a VX220 turbo around Oulton a few weeks ago when I re-did my race licence and I have driven an S2000 too, actually 2 on the same day with a fried who was buying one for his wife, which was a mistake as it turned out.

I had passengers with me at every point at Donny, both Gibbo and my wife and none of them saw you overtake me except when I was pulling into the pits, as I recall you too remebered when reminded so not quite 'passing' when you add context. As I said a no win debate and quite rightly irrelevent to your point. I was not questioning the ability of the S2000 on track, more I felt a lighter car would be the better option if all you wanted to do was track.....I thought I made that clear....

You were annoyed because I took the micky and made the "lets see how quick these boys think they are comment" in jest. Anyone who knows me in real life knows that's what I am like but you took it personal and to heart, which the fact you are bringing it up 2 years later shows.

It is important to you that much is obvious...

Annoyed is completely the wrong world.

I just thought you matched the Porsche driver stereotype quite well and as they say: 'first impressions last' :)

Speaking of VX220s, my cousin who I recommended one too managed to bump his last week, he hit some 'petrol on a roundabout' and ended up smashing into a kerb. I think the engine at the back is less than ideal for a RWD novice, maybe something for the OP to consider.

Log onto .org through the winter, must be a post every fortnight - "Smashed up my VX"
