I believe the dictionary word for what you have is "grudge".

Such was the success of Rent Thread v1.0, I'm already penning a sequel.

I would disagree and so would the people who know me as I don't hold grudges.

Good luck with the sequel, make sure it reflects employment status too.

S2000's certainly aren't rubbish on a track whoever said that, they're probably one of the best cars you can buy to turn up in, race and then drive home.

£1000 to get 280bhp? That's dreaming a bit, a Larini system + Stage 2 map will set you back over £2k and just about chieve 250bhp, past that you're onto VXR Turbo units, cooling system and well into the £5k range to get close to 300bhp, so just as expensive as a charger on an S2K.

VXT compared to the Elise - I didn't like my 111R. It understeered when pushed and it had no grunt around Donington until I lowered the cam changeover to 5750, just about keeping it in VVT when taking the slower corners. The Turbo on the VX however I think works perfectly on a track, ~4,000rpm gives bags of torque when exiting a corner. I suppose it's down to how you like a car to drive though.

The engine in the VX may be reliable, but it's fly by wire and just gutless in standard form. When I say gutless I don't mean lack of power, I mean not wanting to rev, the old 2.0 16v RedTop engines feel totally different to the 2.2. The engine is used in american compact auto's and thats where it should stay. In contrast the engine in the S2000 is regarded as one of the best NA engines ever made.

I drive an Integra Type R, and often wonder what car next. S2000 is a posibility, and also the Elise S2 with the Toyota engine.

What really put me off the VX220 was I went for a passenger ride in one with engine mods, remap, and spax coilovers over the horse shoe pass. The ironic thing was the mods really helped the engine, and most the of the throttle delay had gone. The problem was I was toally un-impressed by the handling, weather the spax coilovers had made things worth or not, point to point by Integra was much quicker.

I've driven also Lotus Exige, and also passenger rided in the Exige with pro-drivers and that was toally different leage to VX I passengered in.

Don't get me wrong over the VX220, in the grand scheme of sports cars it's still good. Just I would want a Lotus or non at all.

So you've not driven a VX220 and you're comparing it to an Exige...

An Exige is about as good as a car can be at handling whilst still being useable on a day to day basis - they have semi-slick specialist tyres and a stiffer chassis. The Elise isn't even in the same league as an Exige so avoid that comparison.

As for the N.A version of the VX, people have already said that they're too heavy with not enough power, but handling wise...an integra is better?? Craziest comment on the thread!

The VX220 I passengered in belonged to a member of vx220.org, I spent about 1 and half hours going over the horseshoe pass area. I was biting my tounge in the car because it felt nothing special. I was most impressed by the mods done to the engine, but the car was not quick on corners. The suspension was harse, was not working on the welsh roads. It was running spax coilovers, and the owner say he had them all soft because they were so stiff. I drove home unimpressed by the experience.

I do take on board post before this saying I should have driven one, and yes maybe it would be different, but would never be happy with 2.2 engine in stock form, and if i'm spending money i'ld put it towards the Elise S2.

RE craziest comment on thread I suggest you watch this.

I drive an Integra Type R with a few mods like extra braces, and Hankook RS2's.

I'm not turing this into a VX220 v Integra, thats the car I drive at the moment. I was not impressed with the VX220 by any level, as said it may have been those spax coilovers the owner had on it.

People that fit aftermarket crap like "Spax coil overs" to an Elise/Exige/VX chassis need shooting IMO. They should stick to either official Lotus suspension upgrades or some of the known-good alternatives like Nitrons and Ohlins which are used in by many racers in the Lotus-on-Track series. Anything else is a risk and you need to be a chassis tuning expert/racing driver to configure them.
