is it a 64bit client? I had some issues getting it to run with bf4 but then found i needed some extra files/folders in the bf4 directory and now it works fine. so might be similar for this game? (like shaders folder and such) I can try and get you a dropbox link to the sweet fx I use on bf and see if you can get that to work?

Using the latest nvidia drivers (that was meant to fix this) makes no difference.

Changing the graphic settings doesn't seem to make any difference, but according to http://www.geforce.com/whats-new/gu...ng-guide#watch-dogs-optimal-playable-settings I should be able to play it on high/ultra.

Your running out of system ram surely?

I think 6Gb is the minimum requirement.

Did you use those Nvidia settings recommendations? Textures at high?

yes it is mate. The Baulotaur2024 SweeFX 1.5.1 is meant to be compatible with Windows 8.1 as it has the two x64 .dll files which need to be copied over, but I just get the dx11 cg factory error pop on screen. I have SweetfFX working on BF4, just nothing I do gets it working on this Sasso.

Yeah I know, I had it modded to the hilt and it looked stunning. I was scraping 30fps with xfire 7950s. Then I started playing and remembered it was quite poor. Hope we get GTA 5

The game is just OK. Not 'next-gen', 'ground breaking' or going to change gaming forever.

My issues (potential spoilers?)

- The witness calling the police thing doesn't really work. I've walked into several different stores, shot the guy behind the counter, stole the money and walked out and drove to the next store... nobody called the police.

I've also mass murdered people in the street, with plenty of other people nearby and nobody called the police.

- There aren't enough options for when you "hack" someone's phone. You either hack their bank account, listen to the phone call where they are just chatting, watch a pointless message exchange, be alerted to a crime about to happen or be told about a package you can go and pick up. If you walk around an area full of pedestrians it gets boring very quickly, not enough variety.

It also lets you know if you are going to get any of the good ones by making the persons profile blue, so you can just "hack" the blue ones.

- The police are stupid. It's easy to get away from them, you can just drive very fast and most of them time they can't keep up. Once you've lost them they don't search very far, or for very long afterwards, they give up very quickly.

I've driven into a parking lot then hid in the car and 3 police men walked straight past me. I was in exactly the same car they saw enter the car park, yet they ignored it...

- The world feels small, and boring. Not enough going on, just rows and rows of shops you cannot go into.

- The AI is terrible. Enemies completely ignore things that happen around them. You can take out people 3 feet away from their friend and they don't even notice. They often don't even react to bodies on the floor.

- Most of the world is mini-games or shops to rob, which gets boring very quickly.

- The side activities are all very repetitive and get boring quickly.

Crime = go to the blue circle and wait for the criminal then either shoot or tackle him.

Rolling contract = drive car to location.

Privacy intrusion (can't remember name) = Follow the white line, hack the box, watch what happens inside.

Gang Hideout = Boring gun mechanics, cover shooter and all it does is show how bad the AI is.

There are about 40 of each of the 3 above. They are tiresome after doing ~3 of each.

- Not enough conversations/interactions between NPC's. I can walk around the city and hear exactly the same conversation between 3 different sets of couples.

- Ambulances don't come for dead people, and fire engines don't show up to put out fires, from what I have seen anyway.

- Boats and the water in general is pretty pointless. There are 3 different types of boat and you see the same 3 everywhere. I couldn't find anything exciting you could only access via the water, just lots of boats rigged up or dead ends. Empty world.

- The port is terrible. Using the mouse as a replacement for the thumbstick just doesn't work. I have to move my mouse all over my mousemat to get through menus, it's not natural at all. It does play fine with a 360 pad though.

I've played for about 4 hours, and only done 1 main mission (after the initial tutorial/intro) and it was OK. Can't really comment on the story yet, but I don't feel inclined to open the game again.

It's seriously lacking polish and needed much longer development time, along with some new ideas.

This is not GOTY, it's not even a great game, it's disappointing and just OK.

I have to agree, it's hilarious how much better GTA5 is than this. I know that they aren't completely the same sort of game however I think there's enough there to warrant comparisons.
It's like every Ubisoft open world game eg "towers" to activate to unlock the map (ala Far Cry & AC) however AC Black Flag was awesome, this isn't.

Well, the card has 2gb memory. The settings defaulted to 2gb but I've not had any luck even when dropping them to 1gb. Tried changing settings to low and resolution to 1600 x 900 windowed and still instant BSoD after loading a game.

As for RAM usage. I do have 8gb (which I believe was the recommended) so I should be ok.

Also I haven't overclocked my system so that won't be an issue :p

I haven't tried setting it to offline mode yet so that could be another option. But fingers crossed the beta drivers fix it.
 
So it looks like CJS keys have still not given me my key and are no longer replying to my emails to get an update on what's going on.

Anyone heard anything from them and still waiting? Really gutted to be honest as I ordered middle of last week and everyone else seems to have their game.

Awful service from them.

at this point I would be tempted to try a cleanup and driver install again

Online crash normal just close to desktop no BSoD

hummmm strange that! I had to try a few different sweetfx download before I found one that worked for me. maybe it's got a few different settings which aren't compatible :confused: sure it will be figured out soon :D *crosses fingers*

Had no problems with my Indian order unlocked on the 27 May 9am game plays well have reached my safe house after crashing a car into the bay an stealing a speed boat to get away from the police not stuttering too on my Nvidia card have 16 gig of system memory.

Driving a car was tricky must have hit 50 cars lol speed boat was easy with hardly any boats moving on the bay.

I was getting that error message on bf4 with sweetfx for ages, Nexus fixed it for me, spent about 2 hours going throught my bf4 files deleting some out etc.

God knows if it will be the same with watchdogs, I think some of the sweetfx configs don't have these files included which is what may throw it out of sync. Obvs I could be talking utter rubbish mind.

Speak to the nexus-oracle-bot-hax

I tried to set up a config using the sweetfx configurator but it didn't work, game booted fine but wasn't appearing in game.
 
cheers Josh. Honestly though, I have no idea, and I'm not a noob to Sweetfx either. I've been using it since it launched and know my way around all the files and whats right and wrong. But for the life of me, this just will not take. Ive tried SweetFX 1.4, SweetFX 1.5, SweetFX 1.5.1 (Balautours2024 for 8.1) I've tried the X64 .dll files in the directory, I tired RadeoPro with all different sets, I've tried Sweetfx Configurator, I've tried my EFX BF4 SweetFX lol...I've gone through evrything lol. The game either launches but Sweetfx doesn't inject or I get the above mesage.

So freaking frustrating man
 
hummm yeah, I think that's what I was getting on BF4 initially because I was missing a folder.

at the risk of really borking it here's my sweetfx folder that I used with bf4 (and given to friends successfully.

(just had to edit as there was a swear in the link xD )

under the top directory should be the sweetfx and shaders folders and then the other files too. All go into the WD directory (like you do with bf4). I'd try and get rid of any sweetfx files you have in the WD directory first as any extra files can cause it to not work. oh, don't think you need the user.cfg as that's to get the FPS counter on bf4 to auto start ;)

Might have to grab this tonight and give it a whirl. seems fun from the streams I;ve watched but.....as has been previously stated....looks like the gimmicks may get old fast/boring and AI are pants :p
 
I started playing this yesterday, right from the off it stuttered like mad on High settings, although i'm admittedly below minimum spec. Running a lowly i5 2300, only 4gig of ram but with a GTX680 2Gb. Didnt really matter what setting i changed, it reminded me of the old days of trying to run games with not enough ram.

Opened Task Manager and resource monitor to see what was going on, to my surprise Waterfox was taking almost a gig in memory alone, kinda nothing new there, i often leave it open while playing games and never had a problem. This time i closed it and low and behold WD runs smooth as butter, make of this what you like but it might help some, close those browsers! :)
