Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

Anybody else seen the russian video on youtube which compares the graphics + physics in this to GTA IV? I can't find it from work but it was pretty shocking, some of the things missing in Watchdogs that were in a 6/7 year old GTA IV:

- Headlights on cars don't cast any dynamic shadows
- Minimal damage modelling on the cars or environment
- Copy paste generic reflections in all windows of buildings
- Water looks good but has no impact modelling

Off the top of my head... so this is "next-gen" is it? I had my concerns when the game got delayed but I at least thought it would be of a generally higher standard at least graphically. Gameplay wise it seems to have some fun elements from what I've seen but Ubisofts games are all becoming copy-paste jobs these days. Looks like a sub-£10 job from the Steam Xmas sales to me

You mean the russian video comparing a modified version of GTA IV to Watch Dogs?

Guys this game is running perfectly for me, which is a relief as lots of people were complaining about performance yesterday. I did use this guide however which allows me to max everything out on 1080p with (Temp SMAA) & still maintain 60fps on V sync. Might change the Adaptive setting in control panel & see how much further it will go

Same guide I used, it's a good guide with lots of info and image comparisons.
Just wish I could enable super sampling in the config and get decent fps, unfortunately it just hammers my 670's.

The footage shown at E3 was obviously next gen as the next gen consoles are clearly capable of such feats. Since then or maybe the decision was made already, it was decided that it would also come to the current gen and so the game world was built with them in mind. It is clearly built for current (last) gen and has bells and whistles added for next (current) gen.

I think look to the new assassins creed and batman game to start to see a good example of what we will start getting from now on and will allow us to justify our stupid powerful rigs.

Flipping hell I derped, I thought it only had the one like Assassins Creed :p
Where'd you change it?

In the game settings some where. Can't remember exactly where and I'm at work just now. I upped it one as it seemed to take an age for a guard to spot me standing right in front of him :D It may have 4 difficulty settings now I think about.

Game seems OK performance wise, all settings on Ultra, including textures, apart from shadows, high 80's average, dropping to mid 40's to low 30's whilst driving. SMAA and MHBOA set. Flickering in shadows though is a bit annoying! ATi driver issue? on the 14.6 beta 1's. I will give the large page trick a go tonight also I think, also what is the best setting for GPU Max Buffered frames?, I have it on 3 at the moment.
Game at 1920x1200.
