It's not really a bad game, but it's not much of a challenge either, AI is very dumb. There are a few nice scripted attacks in the story but overall 90% of what I've played is relatively dull. All the side missions, if you can call them that, are extremely short, boring, and swing from either painfully easy to ridiculously frustrating.

The main campaign alone with nothing else, might be worth playing, might not. It's not brilliant or terrible yet.

Most of the funny "it doesn't work right" things aren't hugely important. Civilians don't get out of the way and can actually be pushed by the car.... it doesn't really impact the game, certainly doesn't make it worse and really just adds a few moments of laughter throughout. Most of those game not working right things in the video aren't game breaking nor will you come across most of them. Yes every pole/telephone pole braking in the same way is silly but it doesn't matter.

It's fun to run around a bit and the main story might end up decent and relatively fun to play through. The rest of the game is really boring filler though.

The biggest downside I guess is, in GTA you could just kill random people, cause a police chase, have fun driving/shooting police. In this the driving is rubbish, the police are stupid and too easy to get away from and as yet they don't really esculate. In GTA you get basic cops, then swat, then proper road blocks. From what I've seen you go basic cops to cops + chopper, to cops + chopper + sniper in chopper. So random creating carnage isn't fun :(

Pick it up when cheap, which won't be long, might also run half decent by then as well.

Thank you for that :) I'll wait for a Steam sale or something similar to pick it up in
 
I just don't get why the felt the need to make the game boring? one of the first things i tried to do was jumping into traffic gta or saints row style. not only is there no jump button but traffic drives way to slow and stops the second you get within 10 meters of them....not possible to be hit by an ai driver

Next i decided to hack the bridges so I could watch the ai go flying off jumps. nope they go to slow and just do a uturn. unless you lift the bridge at the perfect time and then they just do a uturn and drive off the bridge and into the water despite the fact they already cleared the gap.......saw one car crawl up the bridge and drive into the river at about 1 mile an hour as well. It's not really funny or buggy just really dumb.

Then next i jumped down into the river and jumped into someones boat under the bridge. the driver did nothing , just sat there and then another 7 or so boats ended up queing behind us in single file despite the river being wide enough to get 10 boats side by side. So i got bored of them shouting and honking and shot them. the police couldn't get to me under the bridge and would just park and get out of their cars. So it's time to raise the bridge on them right? nope can't do it from under the bridge... fired a couple shots to keep their attention but they just shoot at nothing at the top of the bridge and do nothing before losing me again. then I just got bored and exited the game

.edit seriously though why cant we have some ai going a bit nuts and panicking like people do in real life rather than driving around like the worlds most boring volvo driver. only time there's a bit of carnage is at crossroads when you hack the lights

at the risk of really borking it here's my sweetfx folder that I used with bf4 (and given to friends successfully.

(just had to edit as there was a swear in the link xD )

under the top directory should be the sweetfx and shaders folders and then the other files too. All go into the WD directory (like you do with bf4). I'd try and get rid of any sweetfx files you have in the WD directory first as any extra files can cause it to not work. oh, don't think you need the user.cfg as that's to get the FPS counter on bf4 to auto start ;)

Might have to grab this tonight and give it a whirl. seems fun from the streams I;ve watched but.....as has been previously stated....looks like the gimmicks may get old fast/boring and AI are pants :p

Lovely finally managed to download and install Uplay today and go to activate the game only to be told my code is already in use on another account!
