Weekend Football; 31st -1st - *SPOiLERS*

Spurs cant sign him anyway, not till the summer.
He cant move back to the same club within a year.
"Rule L19 forbids players returning to clubs within a year, but the League can waive this at its discretion. "

If he gets a move, it really will be because liverpool dont want him, and nothing else, as they will have to petition the league to get shot of him back to spurs.

The FA can allow it and most probably would.

Discussions between Spurs and Pool are off as of 10pm though.

Either that means Liverpool have decided not to sell, we're not stumping up the cash, or we're close to completing the signing of another striker.

Really don't understand what's going on with Keane anymore. If the rumours are true and he does leave I hope to hell we don't get Jenas or Lennon. Jenas wouldn't offer us anything in the middle and Lennon simply wouldn't get a game. It's turning in to a farce and one the club doesn't need.
No danger of us selling either to you, especially Lennon.

I hate to go back to this ITK **** but the person who touted the move to Liverpool in the first place has said that the discussions ended tonight.

Elisha Scott hasn't said anything AFAIK and he was the one that broke the story, while all the Spurs fans (well you ;)) were saying that Keane will never leave Spurs.

As i said earlier, i doubt he'll leave now as we're already short of a striker but his days are numbered, especially after Rafa confirmed that the 'club' (aka Coco) decided that Keane was worth £20m not him.

How misleading is the title for the article:

"Spurs to end Keane's Anfield misery - I didn't even sanction the £20m transfer in the first place, admits angry Benitez"

Not once is this mentioned in the article, nor is there even a direct quote from Benitez. Shoddy journalism.

In his press conference with the Sunday rags he was asked about his thoughts on spending £20m on Keane and he responded by saying 'the club spent it'.

Also why the **** are there 3 seperate press conferences? 1 for the TV and Radio, 1 for the general rags and another for the Sunday's.

:p

There were a few people who called the Keane transfer early, although they were probably going off of Scott's info.

Pretty sure this one is a non runner though.

Rafa Benitez should release a series of books regarding building morale in team groups.

He's an utter ****.

Has some cheek saying he'll report Harry for alleged tapping up for Keane. He seems to have forgot how he went about unsettling Keane in the first place and how we dropped the evidence we sent to the FA.

Benitez may not have actually spent the money as the club does it on his behalf, but he chose Keane as a target for the club to buy and Parry and Co carried it out. They overpaid for him, but everyone does, Berbatov isn't worth £30m+. It was just the figure Spurs were willing to sell him at, same with Keane. He's not worth £20m but he cost that because Spurs wouldn't accept less.

The Spurs board are a bunch of ****s especially Levy. Holding out to the very last day of the summer transfer window, then bitching that they didn't have enough time to buy replacements in. Commolli or whatever his name is, came out this week with some ridiculous remarks about Berbatov. I know he's not at Spurs anymore, but to blame Spurs season solely on Berbatov is a joke.

Can i ask how Benitez's treatment of Keane is any different from that of Fergie to Tevez?

At least Rafa had good reason to drop Keane, Tevez was you best player when he got dropped. And then Fergie came out with his stuff about Tevez's transfer which Tevez wasn't too happy with (iirc he said that Fergie was a liar).

I agree. The problem isn't Keane but failing to get Barry. Benitez made it clear that Barry was his number 1 target and wanted the club to go out and buy Barry and then if it was possible go after Keane. That's why when he's asked about transfer he usually says to go see Parry. The Benitez/Parry war has been going on for years but it looks as if things are finally coming to a head. As i wrote a while back, as much as i hate to say it, we may actually be better off if Hicks got total cotrol and Parry was kicked out.

It was completely the boards fault for our demise.

It used to be my opinion that we could have worse like the Doctor of City but I'm coming around to the idea of selling sharpish.
