Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 11-14

How do they work that rating out?

Calculated using a mathematical formula developed by PA Sport alongside statisticians from Salford University, each player’s contribution to matches is examined including goals, shots, passes, dribbles, tackles, crosses, saves, clearances, blocks, interceptions, time on the pitch and number of points gained by their team.

Interesting top 10 in the Actim Index:

1 Aaron Lennon Tottenham 115
2 Emmanuel Adebayor Man City 106
3 Glen Johnson Liverpool 99
4 Didier Drogba Chelsea 95
5 Robbie Keane Tottenham 93
6 Jermain Defoe Tottenham 90
7 Nicolas Anelka Chelsea 87
8 Fernando Torres Liverpool 86
9 Ashley Cole Chelsea 83
10 Wayne Rooney Man Utd 81

I would agree with the players, but would have considered Rooney to be a lot higher, especially higher than Anelka.

Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 1 Nottingham Forest.

Dull game, we were probably the better side over 90 minutes, was a scrappy affair, with few cards.

Forest fans were fairly good, kept the songs up with the Wednesday faithful, so a good atmosphere.

Must be said, that Forest's time wasting was embarrassing, taking 15-25 seconds for goal kicks, they refused to pick the ball up if it wasn't given to them for throw ins, which led to some nasty confrontations, they often took 20 seconds to get the ball and 15-20 to throw the ball. Really embarrassing, lost count of how many times the Ref "warned" them for it. Really reflected badly on the club, embarrassing.

Anything with Spurs at the top you need to post :p

To make it public just screams out wanting to stir it up. You can make a complaint without making a hoohar out of it purely to make a villain out of Adebayor.

I don't think stating what happened is making a hoohar or trying to make a villain out of somebody who clearly studded RVP in the face, centimetres away from his eye.

Greatest respect mate but it's a waste of time debating Utd with you and that Muppet Nickg. The way I look at it the runs you make without the ball can be just as deadly for what you do with the ball for the space they create. I think his passing and movement has been excellent this season.

I really can't see how a team that has finished in the top 4 for 15 years or so carries so many players year in year out.

I suspect we will never agree on much so as I say, waste of time debating it really

Not over him we wont, but then like you say, its the runs off the ball that can be most deadly, which is something he doesnt do either, as is highlighted on most after match programs, and by most commentators and journalists in match reports.

I give you the same answer to the same question you've asked for the last two season, there isnt "so many" bad players there, just a couple of rotten ones and two he should really of replaced fully at least two years ago.

Less of the arguments, we all know we're just culture-less buffoons who just like football. ;)

Speaking of football, probably the biggest game so far in the Championship so far (in terms of promotion rivals anyway) coming up tomorrow.

Newcastle v Cardiff. I'd be happy with a draw to honest especially with the players we've got out. Having said that I wouldn't be surprised if we won. Taylor v Chopra should be a good battle to watch as well.

Really doesn't like the Arsenal supporters does he :D

Doubt he'll get more than a fine for the celebration (that's all Neville got for doing the same thing a few years ago) but would expect a 2 or 3 match ban for his stamp.
