Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 11-14

having just seen the incident for the first time, its disgraceful, Ade deserves more than a lengthy ban... also he deliberately stands on Fabregas ankle ..

Also have seen the incident on match of the day, posting the same video again just reaffirms my opinion. No way to prove that is intentional at all, just an unfortunate accident.

unfortunate accident ??? yeah riiiight

1827: Ryan Giggs' goal means he maintains his record of scoring in every Premier League season. So there.

Glad he still has that record :D

Who else is still around that scored in 92' (and there after) there cant be that many

Fabulous result - well done Ando for scoring at last (might have been helped by his goal for the reserves this week also), Rooney's goal was brillaint (and fabulous pass to set him up too)

Scholes was always likely to get sent off, he is just too rash sometimes - he played well (surprisingly) but needed to be subbed after the 1st yellow - but Im amazed at how well Utd played wth 9 outfield players - the whole team deserves a lot of credit, and Berba coming off when Scholes was sent off was the only decision to make imo with Rooney so on fire, yes we could have held on for 2-1 but thats always a dangerous position trying to contain that score for 30 minutes, with Rooney we pressed and harried and could have even scored more than his majestic solo effort.

I was bricking it after 40 seconds and Spurs had a couple of decent other efforts too, some great saves from Foster imo and to be fair to the guy I cant see how he could have done much for the goal, its just one of those things - it just felt a lot worse because it was right after kickoff

Davestar get yourself a copy of the news of the world and look at the back page - the expression on adebayor's face is one of pure hatred.6 games i think would be a suitable punishment

Adebayor is a talented player but he's caused trouble at every club he's been at. There's a reason Wenger would get shot of a guy who's scored 30 goals in a season and what we saw yesterday explains why. The guy's a loose cannon (gunners joke) and has disrupted the Arsenal team during competetive matches, training and in the dressing room, we were right to get rid of him.
The downer for me is he'll likely get a ban for the stamp so the red mancs will not have to worry how to handle him at the derby.

Deary me, just seen the Adebayor 'challenges' on Fab and RvP. I'm stunned, he could easily have blinded RvP, what the ****?

RvP should have been booked, he obviously went in that little bit harder than he would have on any other Man City player.

But what Adebayor did afterwards was totally unforgivable and he should receive a lengthy ban for the incident.

All this is irrespective of his crowd aggravation antics, which he should also receive a ban for. He's gone way up on my list of plonkers tbh.

Disappointed that Arsenal lost again...i dont think we have a chance in hell of winning anything yet again.

Adebayor??....what an utter utter knobber of the highest calibre...what kind of ****wit runs 90 or so yards to taunt the opposition supporters??..wish someone would have lamped that idiots smile off his face...hopefully he will get banned for a quite a few matches. Then he stamps or almost stamps on Van Persies face...terrible stuff from that idiot ...the guy is talented but there was no need for his antics yesterday...sure hes angry or upset that the Arsenal supporters didnt like him much...seeing as he didnt put much effort in when he was playing for us and saw the lure of money at Man City as his way out...im thankful the muppet is gone...he showed his true colours yesterday at the game...there really was no need for that.

As for Arsenal...disappointing as usual but i just dont think we can compete with the top teams anymore ie Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool and now Man City...even those yids from north london are going to give us a pretty good run for our money:(.

At least all of you can shut up about Eduardo now:p...

Ade was a very naughty boy stamping on Robin Van Persie like that.

The FA should take action on something like that.

And RvP could have broken Adebayor's leg.

Not saying that's anywhere close to what Ade did, but still. Two red cards for me.

Red card for van Persie? If every player got red cards for challenges like that there'd be no players left on the field.

I don't even think its a clear cut yellow.

Can I refer you back to my post and the incident, look at Robin's challenge, when his feet go in for the tackle both are facing down when he makes the challenge. How he could've broken Adebayor's leg without his studs showing up I do not know, and that's what you are claiming, that he made an over the top of the ball studs up challenge. Even after making contact with Adebayor, his feet are still pointing down.

I'm not saying it was a good challenge and really he should've been yellow carded as he Adebayor saw him coming and tapped the ball away and he got man rather than ball, but if you want a red card for that challenge then a lot of games are going to finish with 10 men or less each week

From the video I saw, it looked like he had made full contact with studs on Ade's foot. That image says otherwise, although it's a little unclear.

LOL red card for RvP??....Maybe a yellow card at the most but that challenge from RvP on Adebayor was ok...nothing vicious about it...Adebayor should have been thrown off the field for his utterly vicious tackles he was dishing out to Arsenal...it was like he had a point to prove which god only know what it was.

Hopefully Adebayor will get a hefty match ban and a big fine from Man city.
