Wenger - get out

Nasri has been poor more often than not since Christmas. If we get a substantial offer for him I would take them up on it. Get a decent winger who can play on either side, get some pace into the flanks.

Agree, he had a fantastic run of form but since then he's done FA. He often slows our attacks and you can just tell that he shouldn't be on the wing. Proper wingers would be one of the first things to address. Watching our past 10-15 games it's obvious that while our defence may not be the best, it really isn't our biggest problem this season. Our inability to finish teams off and put away the hundreds of chances we have all season is what costs us points.

But also to totally write Chamakh off after just one season? Seems more than a little harsh tbh.

Yeah, I think Chamakh has the potential to be an excellent forward.

Not disagreeing with you, but many of the team have been below par this second half of the season. Arshy was by far the worst during his poor period, couldn't play simple passes never mind score! It's not the on/off players that we need to get rid of, its the damn right terrible ones (you mentioned most of them in you other post) I don't think Nasri falls into that category at all. Essentially the defense orientated ones/keeper'S'!

On another point, I don't know if anyone saw MOTD 2 last night where John Hartson pointed the blame of Arsenals recent performances to van Persie 'not beinb a out-and-out striker'. I nearly threw my TV out the window.

He's going through poor form, so what? Does that mean Man Utd should have sold Rooney when he went through poor form? No it doesn't, you show a bit of confidence in your players! Especially when the player in question is one of your best!

I cant disagree with Wenger staying. i am an avid arsenal fan since the days of george graham and i feel it is time for wenger to leave.

he seems to have done as much as he can for the club but the big issue is not lack of trophies, its the manner in which we lose at the final hurdle due to some schoolboy error, no plan b or playing players like Eboue who cleary are not good enough to play on the first team of most premiership sides.

It is dark times ahead but for me wenger needs to go while he still has a bit of dignity lef him. His invincible season is quickly turning into a forgotten memory.

I personally think that the people who dont want wenger to go are scared of what may happen. Someone here said how the wenger of today is completely different to the wenger of the invincible's and how most managers are better then the current wenger. i think i agree with that statement.

i think that even Harry redknapp is a far superior manager then Wenger of today.

I think RvP has something like 21 in his last 22 starts, which is Messi-esque stats. Fair enough moan about his injuries, but not his ability to score

The post above mine has to be a troll! Harry Redknapp!? Didn't his own players admit that he doesn't actually bother them with tactics, just a pat on the back and 'good luck'??

Sometimes that is all that's needed, players who have self belief often out perform those who are considered to be excellent tactical sides ;)

Imagine a team with the self belief AND the Tactical ability? Oh look, It's Barcelona!

Wouldn't 31 in 21 be Messi-esque stats? ;)

He's a striker but he's so involved in the build up play that he can't really be called an out and out striker. When they were going through the match they showed parts of the game were Van Persie was involved in the build up play on the wing and Diaby was the only player running into the box. The problem with us is that Diaby is crap and we should have a Hernandez running into the box instead of a Diaby. If by chance Van Persie happens to be in the box then most of the time he's the only arsenal player in there unless we're playing bendtner.

Yep, there's definitely a case for Arsenal not mixing up formations or tactics this season, we need somebody who can come on in the last 20 and play off RvP if we need a goal. That means changing the shape of the team too.

I think Wenger is a great manager(lfc fan here), however no trophies for 6 seasons speaks volumes and I believe he's near the end of his reign, I just don't see how he can take you any further than you are.

For me, the only two people who could replace him are Guardiola (who's rumoured to be leaving Barca) and Coyle, both share similar philospohy that Wenger does.

If Arsenal do get rid of him (I don't think they will), it'll be one hell of a massive call.

LOL at this thread...getting rid of Wenger??...when he has been our most successful manager??...i dont think so tbh.

The only thing id get rid of at Arsenal are a few of the rubbish players that are currently in our squad...get some decent defenders and a decent world class GK althouh i thought Szczesney played pretty well yesterday tbh.

Gettinbg rid of Wenger wouldnt solve our problems of winning trophies...for me some decent god damned defenders would probably solve that and also a massive amount of belief in ourselves.

I wonder if there's a case (or indeed if Wenger would want it) for him to move to a 'Director of Football' role - in charge of the whole club development, scouting etc and bring in a coach to work under him. It does seem sometimes that Wenger misses a trick or two in terms of tactics, subsitutions and general game time stuff. Would also give time to groom a successor.

I reckon that will happen once hes done with the managerial side of things...unless he decides to retire completely when hes done...i hope not as i think him being director would be a good move for Arsenal on the whole.
