Opening this up again - keep all chat on Wenger's future, no general talk about today's game, Sanchez's contract and anything else off topic.

So Wenger has made his decision as to what his future at Arsenal is.

He has decided that he will be around for another year then call it quits.

So another year of us making a title challenge at the start of the season then come xmas, we fall off a cliff which also includes the CL. That is if we manage to qualify for the CL this season, still hoping we don't.

But at least he has finally made his decision. Will be strange seeing another manager in the Arsenal dugout but I think we do need a new direction for the club.

I wonder if he will move upstairs or leave Arsenal entirely.

Is that correct? I think that could work well, gives the club a good year to scout suitors and decide which way to take the club.

Bad idea for him to go now tho surely? Yea, it seems like the ill sentiment towards the manager off the pitch has affected the mindset of the players on the pitch.

I just cannot understand how a manager can be great from 96-2004(7) and then from then on be completely stubborn, blinkered and inadequate.

He's transfer policies over the years is just one area that's frustrating. Year after year saying that we have a squad capable of winning the league, when rivals are spending big and it was plain to see year after year we where not good enough.

The last 10 years at Arsenal have pretty much been the same. Predicable.

We are desperately in need for someone with fresh ideas to come in and make us competitive again. Were just not competitive anymore.

Teams we have no chance of beating:

Chelsea, Liverpool, Man U, Man C & Spurs. Any game home or away as an Arsenal fan we just know we are not gong to win.

But that's not even the issue, its the way we lose that's the problem. Clueless, no bottle or fight, tactics naive. And this is the same year after year after year.

I'd rather see us lose 5-1 having fought for our lives than trying to play 'pretty' football and lose 5-1.

This hasn't been confirmed tho?

Not sure if it's been confirmed, caught SSN this morning and they were saying he's decided that one more season then he's retiring.

If he is going after one more season then it gives us a chance to look at other managers and try to get a good decent manager in.

Only question is who?? I'd like to see Simeone at Arsenal, has a lot of passion for the game and has done well at Atletico. If not him then someone equally as passionate.

The thing with Allegri is, temperament wise he looks the same as Wenger.

If it's just one more year... THANK GOD! I've been a huge Wenger in supporter over the years... but now I am ready for a change.

Where did he mention he wil stay?

Should really look to get rid of him this year, if he stays there's a danger the decent players will leave before someone else comes in.

Not shocking to me. As expected. He will be here one more year at least unless the we keep losing games this season and end up mid table or something.

I think Wenger wants to go out on a high and I don't blame him, I want to see this too. He has been great for us and deserves to go out on a high, not be forced out by fans.

Maybe he will spend big this summer? :p
