tbh, are you gonna get that?
we had talks with our insurance co's loss ajuster, settled on a laptop that did all the things mums old one did, then he said he'ed only give 50% as it was better in 2 areas (hard drive and screen size!)
we just wanted it to have somthing that would play homeworld 2 (old lappy had a geforce)

You've got a good deal.

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the Raptors... they're not that much faster in every day usage, despite their cost. ;)

Those Intel dual core CPUs aren't bad either (better than a Northwood C or Prescott) :)

that spec is substantially better than your original look at the gfx card! I would take it if I were you.

i've seen the lack of your original Raptor.

could u take back your Raptor?? cos i do remember that Western Digital offers 5 yrs warranty... u can RMA it urself.

I know it's a little after the fact but perhaps next time it would be better to take out anything you knew was worth keeping.

That said just go for that setup and then you can always butcher it and turn it into something you exactly want.

Thanks for the replies, yeah now its after the fact there would be a lot of things i would do differently.

Carnt realy get any of my old parts back now, i think its too late and apart from that they wanted £75.00

Im pretty happy with the spec so far, saying that im going to price up the case and mobo and ask for a different brand worth the same money.

One more thing, surely i can save some money here by telling them: mine never had a floppy drive, nor did i sed it with a keyboard and mouse and windows xp also? i have my own copy thanks.

Not really... insurance companies have deals with Dell and the like to supply replacement PCs and parts at very low prices. It's just what it comes with.

Well i have emailed the source and told them im pretty happy with the quote thus far, ive looked up the prices on the mobo and case and asked for a price like for like exchange as im not happy with the brands and quality.

Ive also asked that if possible i can have a raptor drive, after all its exactly what i sent in..

Ive also asked them to take out the: keyboard, mouse, floppy drive and windows xp as i never sent that to them, hopefully they will see this as a gesture of goodwill and we can resolve this once and for all.. :D

Looks like they are starting to read some of my e-mails then, Although i did state that it was a coolermaster stacker case and raptor drives, You are entitled to both of them and make sure you say that, Not sure why they have added windows xp though.

What you need to do is demand that you have the raptors and coolermaster stacker case which is what you had originally, The supplier can source both of them.

When you phone up next week i might even speak to you as all off the walsall branches phones are being re-directed to us and then being upgraded.

RESULT!!

After my email yesterday requesting certain components the source has come good!!
