What did you do to your bike today?

I'd like to try with and without on the same bike. My SV650 obviously was without, the F800 is with and the feel is much better, but then so is the whole bike.

Today I've put my own decals on my track bike :)

A question for those that know bikes... when moving my road bike (not been used in 10 days or so) it felt like the rear brake was stuck on? Any ideas what might have happened or what I should try?

Sticky piston most likely, spray the hell out of it with brake cleaner, go for a quick ride and use the rear brake a lot, then dont use it for a few miles if when you get home the rear disc is molten hot then you will have a stuck piston most likely, please don't stick your bare hand on the disk though lol you will feel its very hot a few cm away from it :p

You can then either rebuild the whole caliper or what I usually do it push the piston out quite far, give it a good clean, put some caliper grease around the piston and then push it back in, usually fixes the problem.
If you can push the piston out at all then that's where it gets tricky :p

just fitted my knock off pazzos (really impressed for just £22 :O) and adjusted the chain ready for a nice long ride in the superb weather :D

Quite rare to see a black ER6... nice change from green me thinks. I managed to get two hours in the saddle 1 hour with a mate at least who's new to the biking so, took it nice and steady...

Then realised when I got back, bought bike on 8921 miles, it's not on 11,500 miles in the space of what 6 weeks ish?

Thought about going out yesterday morning as it looked nice and we were promised nice weather... waited an hour and the heavens opened... /sigh.

Rockingham on Saturday.. really, really hope it's dry!!

After having managed 900 miles last year, I pledged to myself to get out more on the thing (old rattly Thunderace with a leaky fork oil seal) but since the MOT, it's done 0 miles. Combination of working or (more likely) dreadful weather. If I flogged the thing (prob worth more in bits) I'm not sure I'd miss it, which is a shame as I love it when I'm out and the bike is behaving itself.

So today, I looked at it, then shut the garage door, because I was getting wet (this was 2am when I got in from work)

Woke up with a hardcore cold that feels like I have 2 elephants in my nose and my teeth are being pulled by monkeys with grippers:mad:

Still took the bike to work and have got it booked in for new tyres on friday:D

Just praying it does not rain:(

Have to admit, there are downside to biking that will always make me LOVE cars and LIKE biking...

a). Simply going out in rain and wet on a bike is depressing... bikes gets filthy, you get wet and filthy, you can't tank it like you would in the dry and it's more dangerous on what is already a dangerous passtime.

b). Getting on a bike just isn't easy like getting into a car. Quick bike check, getting all the gear on... it's like getting ready for a mission to mars lol... in a car, you can be in and off in 30 seconds...

c). Have to admit, although I'm enjoying it a lot, I have got the "death" and "the grimm reaper" in the back of my mind whenever I go out knowing that it'd be very easy to crash or get hit compared to a car...

However looking at the above points, suppose when the sun's out, bike is warmed up, nice roads... there are also very few things better than taking a sweeping corner at speed.... so... yeah, swings and roundabouts..

How long have you been riding (big bikes) Mr. Pug?

After a while I've gotten used to the rain, and having decent waterproofs and heated grips I'm perfectly at home in rain or dry. 7 hours to Scotland in torrential rain the other week, then another 7 back was a bit tedious though! But that motorway-tastic journey is boring at the best of times. My daily commute has been more wet than dry for the last few weeks/months.

Whilst it takes a minute or two to get suited and booted for the bike, then do a quick look around... mehh, helps me get into the frame of mind :).

c. is a funny one, maybe you'll come to terms with it and ride for ever, maybe you'll decide the perceived danger outweighs the fun times and buy an mx5 instead :P.

This week I 'ave mostly been buying: front and rear EBC sintered pads!

Heavy rain tomorrow so im planning to give her a right good cleaning all round and get all the oil which has accumilated over the tank and bodywork from me working on it all week :D Don't want to ever take the god dam tank of ever again tho! Such a pain :(

Another thing is that my chain lube bottle is empty and I just bought oil for my scott oiler but it is now broken =P Would it be ok to just rub that right into the chain once I clean it?

Which part of your scott oiler is broken ?

You could just rub the oil into the chain but kinda of a waste with out the oiler.

The part which connects to vacume part on the carb is cracked and split all over :( Part of the problem my bike was running like **** :( Think there is any way to get a new piece to fix it rather that just removing it from the bike.
