What did you do to your bike today?

Don't understand the point of these things at all. They have no vent like a proper reservoir, and it seems almost everyone that uses them find they "sweat" brake fluid through the tubing. What advantage do they give?

Looks, cant stand the look of gash reservoirs on the rear of sportsbikes. :p
And this is the third one I have installed and never had a problem with any leaks or sweating, guess its the usual lot who never use their rear brake that have a problem... /flamecoaton ;)

Fitted a new Race air filter yesterday, and fiddled with the idle and fast idle, seems to be a bit better but still not right, need to check the vacuum hoses next....

Ive a HRC front MC tube and it sweats and its deffo brake fluid. Need to leave it wrapped in kitchen towel or it eats the paint ;-(

A google search shows hundreds of people having "sweating" problems with the tube that HRC supplies (or at least used to, perhaps they are better now?). Another massive drawback to these stupid things is that you have to have some kind of vent in the cap to allow air in as the fluid drops. This guarantees your brakes fluid will quickly absorb moisture and degrade. The proper MC reservoir has a rubber diaphragm between the fluid and the vent to prevent this problem.

It just seems such an incredibly pointless thing to fit; it gives no performance advantages whatsoever and some significant drawbacks.

If it wasnt a race bike it wouldnt be there. Simple as that.

The (accossato) master cylinder has a smaller diameter inlet for the fluid and as such, the OEM job wouldnt fit. The HRC kit does so it gets used.

As I said, if this was a road bike I would be very reluctant to use it, I forgot to wrap the tube in paper for a week and sweated enough to form droplets that ate the paintwork..! Will get a pic later.

As for using it for the rear with no diaphram, not a concern if you leave a gap in the top of the tube so it doesnt hydrolock and have enough in there so it doesnt run dry, just needs a bit more maintenance but as said - race bike. The brakes are cared for more often than the tubes run out.

Same tube, cloudy and sweaty. Would not recommend for road bikes with beautiful plastics. Fine for race bike but still a bit annoying. Any other tubes that dont sweat?

Only reason I use it is due to the aftermarket master cylinder using a narrower bore inlet and the standard kwak tube was too large and too short in length too.

Only reason it doesnt bother me is that the paintwork on mine is a lot cheaper and easier to repair than a factory finish and that I change my fluid a lot more regularly than most road users so no worries there.

Its a lot of hassle for a road bike imho

Went to the dealers yesterday asking for a price on a replacement headlamp for my 2011 Speed Triple as it has cracked. Thought it must be a stone chip or something.

Turns out its a known problem with the 2011 model and they are replacing it under warranty tomorrow morning. The newer units have solved the issue.

Result :) Gotta love Triumph customer support.

Honda messed me about for ages with an engine problem on a CB1000R that nearly sent me under a buss and still refused to sort it even though it happened twice more after I had paid for the original damage. Their diagnostic computer "said no". I even got contacted by another geezer through the internets who had the same problem. Turns out it was an electronics issue. Not many peeps will say this but I'll never buy another Honda.

Committed to my bike 100% today by allowing my car insurance to run out @12.15pm, Then went for a ride out in the rain to celebrate. :D

I'll get round to insuring the motor some time or another but I go everywhere on my bike these days come wind, rain or shine.

Good stuff 4T5. My car generally sits for a month or so between each use but I still am struggling to come to sell it.

Only thing I use it for now is getting to where I go walking, purely because I know if I ride there I'll sprain an ankle or something and be stuck there hehe. Maybe that's a rubbish excuse!

I know, What a ridiculous ruling.

Just got back in from shopping on my bike. :p I am continually surprised by how much stuff I can fit in my caravan (topbox)

I've started playing 'shopping chicken' more and more lately, I know one of these days I'm going to be leaving that 6 pint bottle of milk in the car park hehe.
