What did you do to your bike today?

Hope he pulls through ok mate. It's things like this that do make you reassess why you bike, should you bike....

But to put it bluntly. S£&t happens. Accidents happen all the time. Granted, being a biker puts our at more risk though.

I must admit, I've really slowed down over the years and these days don't take the risks I used to.

Again, hope the dude is OK.

Just as an update, we have a list of the injuries... of which I think he's gotten off lightly big-time...

  • Bruising on the brain, but not serious enough to move to Walton so that's good
  • Broken Collar bone
  • Broken ribs
  • Broken left hand
  • Small punctured lung
  • Hole in his left knee (not sure what's caused this)
  • Covered in bruises head to toe obviously.

So, basically, I think he's lucky he's alive and I'm praying that he realise this and watches what he does in the future. Basically they're watching him but nothing life threatening or anything like that. Thing is, when you run up-to someone on the floor out cold, not moving for minutes and then when they do the breathing is like Darth Vader... it seriously stays on your mind... I thought he was toast, really did. I'm gonna go and polish and clean the bike and try and just forget about it now. Cheers for the thoughts by the way. Ride careful people this weekend...!!!

I'm glad I had my being stupid with motorised vehicles (not that I'm saying your mate was being stupid) phase when I was young. I've had a clean licence for over 10 years now and hope to keep it that way. My stupidity had me having 15 points without being banned back in 1995.

Sedate and not too far above the speed limit when not in a 30. I also ride with my pipe and slippers at times.

Paid of the balance on it and got it picked up, have to wait 1 more week before CBT and I can ride it :(

Needs a bloody damn good clean though that's for sure! Paintwork needs some attention in places, need to cut out a few marks but nothing serious.

Yup, one of the main reasons I picked it. For a 125 not much is similar in terms of size, I'm a larger bloke also so helps :p

I was looking at one of these at the beginning of deciding I wanted a bike It's a shame there isn't much similar in terms of size the only other suitable contender I saw was an old TDR125 but I ended up with a Hyosung XD.

My hyo has a good seating position I have the naked one and the seat is nice but its no varadero put it that way....Congrats by the way looks great!

@ sin chase

Congratz mate you must be buzzing & frustrated at the same time.

For sure!

It's only a week though, I can last that long! The bike has been ready for the past 2 weeks but it's only just got back to my place now, would have been much worse if it had been sitting outside for 3 weeks instead of 2! :D

Doh! Went to go turn it over and check start-up procedure and just a nasty clicking. Dash lights up and mileage shows briefly but then counters disappear. Won't turn over! :(

Got a multi-meter on it and only reading 11volts so the battery has dis-charged for some reason - seems strange seeing as it was only rode here a few hours ago. Only thing that has happened is that it rained some, not really sure if that would cause a dis-charge though.

Sooo - Trying to charge battery now and will see in a few hours!

Edit - Surface charge of 11volts (bad already!) but cannot get more than 6-7volts out of the battery under load (ignition on) must have been sheer luck the dealer managed to start it up! Will be calling to sort out a new battery methinks.

Picked up a nail/screw in the rear tyre on the gixxer last night, just before I got to the gf's house the bike was all wavey and unsettled, got here ok but the tyre went down pretty damn quick once I stopped!

Away from my local tyre place and need the bike to get home tomorrow so managed to find a local place that stocks a few sets of tyres, went for a set of bridgestone 016's or something like that! Supposed to be good so I'll see how they go!

Raining here and I rode back to the gf's on new tyres in the rain, I was bricking it!
Hopefully it'll be dry for the 80 mile ride back tomorrow...

:D

you ought to carry one of these

handy in an emergency

I've actually got one at home, take it when I go touring! May have to find room for it under the pillion seat. I've used the stuff you put in the tyre as well, that worked well but spreads itself over the underside of the seat unit until it seals the puncture.

Did cut the surface of the tyre too so would've been a nerve racking ride home! Still, new tyres and wet roads won't be much better!
