What did you do to your bike today?

No that's just payback from regularly pulling out on me

You don't need a quick shifter just do it clutch less,it makes you look like a tool

Totally agree, but i guess if we only focussed what was necessary, we'd all be riding around on 50cc mopeds or some such:D

Thankfully we all have different tastes and opinions, tis the reason i love being on my bike and meeting fellow riders, everyone's different.

4am still can't sleep.

Feels like everything is just a dream. (Doesn't help that suddenly I don't wear glasses any more like in my dreams)

I feel like I'm just gonna wake back up laying in the road waiting to be hit.

Wow I though this was one sub forum where I was safe from handbag waving and bickering. When did wazza300 get so precious about other people's points of view?!

"I don't think I'll bother posting in here anymore" - oh come off it ya great jessie!

Bah enough talk of quickshifters already.

Now...has anyone got any experiance with suicide shifters? I think it would be great on my SV :D

Old wreck as in old compared to modern bikes, but it does me

I still couldn't bring myself to do clutchless shifting on it tho,its just wrong

I'm with wazza on this. I used to clutchless upshift on Sportbikes, but even though I don't think it causes any gearbox damage it doesn't feel right on the GS with shaft drive. Maybe I'm just developing more mechanical sympathy as I get older.

Also I was watching on-bike footage of Anstey at the TT and he uses the clutch - if it's good enough for him it's good enough for me!

I've got to get a 2nd bike to mess with, Something I can tinker with & thrash about the countryside. My Triumphs great as my do anything Tourer but I need to get my hands dirty & miss tinkering.
Don't know what I'll get yet as it'll be more of a what can I get with the cash I had spare at the time of purchase. Don't want to spend much either maybe 1000 - 1200, Would love to get my hands on an old 2 Stroke but will prob end up with a 4 stroke 900/1000 Maybe an old Kwak 9R would do me, I dunno. Searching & Buying is all part of the fun.

Are you sure he was upshifting? I've not seen many racers use the clutch to go up these days. Surely they have quickshifters, or would at least clutchless as it' s that bit quicker.

To be honest I'm not 100% certain if it was up or down - I was trying to find the footage again but it was on ITV4, with a cameral pointing back up at the bike. I noticed it at the time as I was surprised at just how fast he was on the clutch lever. Skills.

Dropped it while moving it in the garden, right on top of my foot.
No damage to the bike though, foot is already throbbing and will probably have a lovely bruise. Stupid gravel.

On the plus side hauled it up and fitted a nice clean slightly smaller number plate and I've got a rear hugger to fit after lunch.

How do you expect to learn anything though if its all done for you? Same with abs and traction control

Everything goes that way though, stuff is developed and there's no need to have old skills anymore.

Same goes for almost everything.

Although it is good to know how to handle a bike without ABS and traction control in case it breaks :p. Then again, if it does break, I don't expect you'd ride it hard enough to need either system before getting it fixed, I know I wouldn't - something else could be wrong and more damage could be caused if you didn't get it fixed.
