What did you do to your bike today?

Today I took the calipers and old braided lines off the front. Easy job.

Tomorrow.... fit new lines and calipers... easy enough still..

When the new pads arrive... fit em and bleed 2 6 pot calipers... oh joy...

Chance would be a fine thing. Fell off as I was putting it on the stand and then fell on its side... puncturing the side wall of the tyre :( I called it a day at that as I was only out for a track day to set up my gearing for a race the following weekend

Doh!

All fixed now and just waiting for a package to arrive with a nice golden shock before it all goes back together

Absolutely smothered it in FS365 then give it a wipe over, Give it the once over & then took it out for a spin. Had a great ride out a proper blue ribbon day then came back & oiled my chain then smothered it in FS365 building up the coats for winter, I Love my bike. :D

Removed a broken jet :( Meeting a pal tomorrow morning who has a spare thankfully.

Also got a new tank and tail pod from the factory for an epic cheap price, if they where painted they would cost just over £700 more than I got them for. Just musing over what colour to do them.

Hope its ok!
I was worried mine might have fallen over in the night also, I woke up once and could hear the cover flapping like mad, too tired to get out of bed and look out the window though, deal with it in the morning :p

I might have to hang up my gloves for a while until I get this Bronchial Cleft Cyst operated on, with my helmet on it must push against it and my neck aches like hell :(

Got given this (2012 Triumph Bonneville) as a courtesy bike while mine's in for a service:

Apart from the poor front brake and lack of acceleration, not a bad bike ;)

Dan Dan the test ride man.

Looks alright except for the front end/forks/wheels/clocks. :p

What kind o0f excess are they charging you on these test rides? I have my bike booked in for a service/mot next week and they want to stick a £975 excess on a courtesy bike

I'm going to be after a new bike come the new year and excesses like that are annoying.

I've purchased all of my previous bikes without having ridden them first. Recently I just thought to myself, why the hell haven't I looked around and tested the field. Doesn't cost anything, except the fuel, sometimes. Depends how nice the dealer is I'm finding. Your bigger company chains stick some in for you. Smaller places tend to leave them on the fuel light. Which is fair enough really :)

Pretty much every one I've test ridden was after signing a form to say I'd pay the first £1000 of any damages, yeah. Quite a lot, but fair enough I guess. I don't intend on throwing any of them at the scenery :D

Possibly trying an R1 tomorrow, then that'll probably be it til next year. I still want to try a Z1000, and of course the new Tuono V4 :) Someone also recommended a BMW F800R, so I might try one of those too...

Well I recently bought an XJ600 with an intention to use her as a winter hack. I picked it up for a bargain price of £350 and expected to ride it until the start of next year and then get rid but soon changed my mind. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with it! Fully taxed and MOT'd, plenty of meat on the break pads and tyres, wheel bearings fine, chain brand new, no leaks, no smokes, no scratches and no dents!

Anyway, I thought seeing as it's a nice enough bike I'd have a go at turning into a streetfighter (something I never thought I'd do).

Here's a picture of her when I picked her up.

And here's a picture of her makeover so far.

I've only done the handle bars and headlight so far. I plan on getting some chrome dials and I'm told the entire front end and rear wheel are a direct swap with the FZR600's so I'll be changing those when I can find some. Other than that it will be general tidying up such as getting a black leather seat cover and more visually appeasing indicators.
