What did you do to your bike today?

I've bought some cheapy Chinese levers for less than £20, including delivery. Thought it was worth a punt and if they're rubbish then I've not lost much. Should be here in 3-4 weeks.

I've had many pairs of these levers and all were fine. Then when I got the FZ a few months ago I bought another pair which faded from black to brown/bronze within weeks so the seller replaced them. They faded too so now I've bought a set of silver ones which are fine.

They must've changed the coating or something as the old ones used to be great.
 
Well, not today, but on Saturday i taxed the Hayabusa for a year.. £76, not too bad i guess :) Took it out for its first ride in over a month... reminded me how much i love the thing.

Gonna save up some money and get some better end cans, and some better brakes... still on standard brakes which are shockingly bad for a bike of its power!
 
Are they Tokico 6 pots on your busa Green? If so then yes they can be shocking because they need constant maintenance. So many forums moan about how crap they are but when you bleed them right they are great.

Oh I was recommended some brake pads made by SBS, meant to have better wearing and cold and wet braking than the usual EBC or Gold Fren HH's.

Saying that, if I can't get my Tok's right I might just get a set of Nissin 4 pots. Similar braking power with seals that last and a dam site easier to bleed lol.
 
Been out loads lately but this rain one minute dry the next is ******* me off. I wish it would either **** down or stay dry, One minute you are on dry roads the next it's patchy. :mad:

I had a set of SBS street excels or something! They were pretty good and even spot on for the track. No snatchyness commuting or squeaks either.
 
I changed my chain and sprocket and added a little round reflector to my Number plate for the MOT

And I learned how to take out Wheel Bearings :) Fire is your FRIEND :)

Just need to put the new once in :)

Changed the spark plugs and rear indicators on my Hornet today. Still waiting for the paddock stand to arrive so I can get the rear disc brake off. Oil change after that and it should be good for MOT :D

I was worried mine might have fallen over in the night also, I woke up once and could hear the cover flapping like mad, too tired to get out of bed and look out the window though, deal with it in the morning :p

I might have to hang up my gloves for a while until I get this Bronchial Cleft Cyst operated on, with my helmet on it must push against it and my neck aches like hell :(

That sounds very uncomfortable :( how long until you think you can ride again?

The bike is mostly OK, the fall itself didn't do any damage so I've adjusted the levers and mirrors back in their place. The exhaust needs welding though as part of it has snapped, found a place not to far away that will do it for a tenner or so.
There's some other small bits, like a broken bar end, and the heated grips not working from a previous owner, but I bought it for a good price (2008 YBR 125 Custom, 22k, £730) and so far I've treated surface rust on the exhaust, got it serviced, and had the rear tyre & bearings replaced. I'm hoping it will not need anything doing for a while now! Will get a few pics up later.

I knock through from the other end but perhaps you have a more efficient way? More than once have I ended up knocking the centre out leaving the bearing wall stuck in the rim.

Easy enough to get out, just weld around the inside and it shrinks but it's a pain in the arse nonetheless.
 
basically I was hitting it from the other side and nothing happened...so me and my dad got the blowtorch out and heated the wheel hub just where the wheel bearing is sitting (is it the hub) and once it was heated up I hit it once lightly and the bearing feel out. DO NOT BLOWTORCH THE BEARING! Do the outside of the wheel hub :)
 
normally they come with a guarantee? might get free replacement/refund if you inquire

I did think about it before going out today to get a new one, but I don't have the receipt anymore, and I wasn't expecting the warranty to be for more than a year (if that). Couldn't even tell you what brand it is now as the owner offered to dispose of the old one so I left it at the shop.

Just hope this one lasts a bit longer. The bike is only 5 years old (at the end of this month) and this is the third battery it's had now. First one wouldn't hold a charge, so if I didn't ride for a week, the battery would be flat.
