What did you do to your bike today?

I put her up on the paddock stand & removed the shock to start the refurb' on it:

Should be able to pick one up for 20-30quid if worst comes to worst anyway! :D

I don't think you'd find one in decent condition for that price, I've never seen (since owning the bke) a 92-95 sc28 shock for a CBR900 that wasn't scruffy 2nd hand.

I've been looking for the past year!

Edit to say, I'd love to restore the whole bike but seeing as I'm 95% sorted towards emigrating I don't think I'll have time. I'm just tidying up the bike ready to sell it.

Try american based user forums.

I did a swingarm/shock swap on my old zx6r and got all my parts from california. To do it here would have cost me 300+ but postage included it cost me under 100quid.

I also recently got a race shock from florida for about 150quid less than it would cost here. Overpriced and as soon as sellers find out im in belfast they think its a free pass to rip off another biker. USA everytime! Exchange rate helps

The postage must have been at least £40 on top though, going from previous experience by buying stuff from the USA?.

I'd get a new rear shock & some decent fork upgrades if I was keeping the bike, I have a real soft spot for this old girl :)

Yarwood how did you fix the vibrations? I think my brother has complained a bit about the vibrations on his ER

Bit of thick rubber tape where the fairings overlap eachother. Mine show up a bit, but it can be hidden much more better than I hid mine - I was rushing it :p I'm going to re-do it with black tape so it's less obvious.

Really easy and took less than 10minutes.

Have you used a QS before Souleh??
Be interested to hear your thoughts on it!

Nope never, be good to see how its like. I know they can eat dogbones from gearboxes but ive only 3k on the bike so hoping for no probs.

Got the grips on, feel much better :-)

Just fell victim to have the killswitches on opposite sides of the bike. I need to move my killswitch back to the right hand side on the race bike.. I went to start the road bike up today and went straight for the left hand side and gave myself a full blast of the horn in the garage- near jumped out of my own skin!

Fitted a rear hugger + puig double bubble. Not sure if I trust the double bubble though, as it's not 100% firm in place..

Also need to get the side-pannier brackets removed, as I only the box to go with the top one. Shame the last owner threaded the bolts trying to get it out, I'll have to use a grinder or drill
